Job Description

The role will focus on product development or application development for Industry Products Group (IPG) customers, including supporting Business Development team to motivate customers in China to opt for our Company’s products and solutions. As a key member of the Shenzhen product development (application Engineering) team, the position will work closely with Halver & Dresden Research & Development hubs located in Germany. Based in Shenzhen, China, this position will be required to station in Germany for an extended period of time so as to get familiarized with products and solutions developed in Halver and Dresden.

Career growth opportunity of the subject position will lead the entire Shenzhen application engineering team for this assigned applications cluster in the long run.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide design solution and proposals to support the potential market development worldwide, initially customers in China
• Develop and implement design validation plan and lead production launch for new business and support current productions
• Work closely with customers to characterize product applications, understand their requirements and create product specifications
• Follow up on project development activities, such as 3D model, 2D drawing, ESI, sample making and checking, tests and reports, and presentations.
• Focus on DFA (Design For Assembly) and DFM (Design for Manufacturing), and will establish the right communication amongst overseas Research & Development Centers, Shenzhen Application Engineering site and Shenzhen assembly/production lines so as to identify the most simple and effective solution, in order to reduce business risks.
• Support Business Development team by participating in customer meetings, teleconferences and visits

Academic & Personal Qualification

• Master degree or above in Electrical, Electronics Engineering or related disciplines
• 5 years or above work experience in electro-mechanical products design or development
• Knowledge of products applications in areas such as Metering, Window, Heating is advantageous
• Knowledge of assembly line manufacturing and components manufacturing processes (such as die casting, injection molding, stamping) is required
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent command of English (spoken and written).
