The Challenge
The purpose of the Sr. L&D manager is to drive strategic CoE Talent Development projects and initiatives within Asia region (focusing on China) and ensure key objectives and actions are tracked, monitored, measured and improved. He/She will act as focal point for global/regional learning and development programs roll-out and drive the learning culture building in the organization. He/She will also provide support to Regional ITD Lead, Asia, for talent development initiatives implementation.
The Position
DSM Asia is operating in a dynamic business context with increasing hiring volumes year on year and strong talent development needs to fullfill the business strategy requirements. There is an expectation to bridge the global talent development initiatives with regional needs and collaborate at regional level to build platforms for talent to grow. As such, there is increasing demand for strenghthen the regional talent pipeline and provide versatile L&D resources to support talent development.
- Work out regional annual learning plan together with the support from L&D coordinator. Regular check in and make sure the learning plan is implemented against plan.
- Coordinate project activities, resources, equipment and information.
- Liaise with Global L&D CoE to help identify and understand regional needs. Provide feedback and act as sounding board when needed.
- Prepare project proposals, timeframes, schedule and budget. Manage, control and coordinate project schedule & implementation to ensure successful project implementation.
- Monitor and track project’s progress with regular reporting and handle any issues that arise.
- Establish KPI’s to monitor and evaluate project and process performance and make consistent recommendations for improvement.
- Manage stakeholders effectively and solicit feedback for continuous improvement.
- Lead regional critical talent development program such as China Young Talent Program.
- Act as master facilitator for global and regional L&D programs/courses.
- Organize and facilitate train the trainer sessions to develop regional facilitators.
- Support the customers ad-hoc needs based on business requirements.
- Design or customize training materials according to regional needs.
- Support talent events flow design and facilitation.
- Work on L&D related policies design and deployment, process improvement.
- Build the mechanism to drive learning culture in the region. (eg. Internal communication and promotion, internal facilitators network building and etc.)
- Bachelor or Master in Human Resources Management is preferred
- Strong business acumen with problem-solving capabilities.
- Good at using profession office software such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Certification or knowledge about talent assessment, competency map is a plus.
- 8-10 years’experience in learning and development or talent development.
- Ability to organize creative ideas into structured processes and ways of working with clear deliverables and measurements.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
