The Senior Manager, Manager Development will define the vision and strategy for manager development across Airbnb. This individual will be expected to design and implement and at times facilitate learning offerings that develop manager effectiveness capabilities that enable and support the business strategy. Working closely with senior business and Employee Experience leaders, this individual will provide leadership in the area of strategy alignment and deployment and change management. Manager Development consists of ongoing needs assessment, competency validation, deployment of the management model across all touch points in the employee and manager’s journey, and work with Systems and Learning to ensure that the tools and learning align with the desired outcomes for 21st century managers at Airbnb.

Scope

The individual in this role will have responsibility for developing the vision, strategy and delivery of manager development for Airbnb.   

Key Responsibilities 

• Define a vision for manager development that takes into account Airbnb’s organizational culture and business goals.
• Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders across the organization.
• Prioritize needs and deliverables taking into consideration scope, budget and time constraints.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and review of content design and delivery.
• Partner with external vendors as needed to achieve scale.
• Evaluate the quality of offerings and invest in continuous improvement.
• Partner with Internal Communications to ensure broad socialization and adoption of offerings.
• Develop a community of managers that is mutually supportive and committed to ongoing learning. 
• Ensure that diversity and belonging are thoroughly integrated in curriculum and content.

Experience/Education Sought

• 12+ years Manager and/or Leadership Development experience in a fast-paced, complex, global company with a demonstrated history of success.
• Strong expertise in diversity and inclusion preferred.
• 5+ years people management experience.
• Experience helping global organizations scale.
• Experience in a technology, product, or creative company preferred. 
• International experience is desirable.
• Master’s degree in business, human resources or related field is preferred.

The starting base pay for this role is between $180,000 and $225,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: education, experience, and skills. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
