Digital learning is foundational to our plan, and we are seeking a Learning Technology Specialist to enhance the overall employee learning experience through the use and integration of technology, data, and collaborative and workflow tools. The Learning Technology Specialist will play a key role in supporting Thermo Fisher Scientific’s next generation of learning, including online learning, data analytics, automation, and use of digital tools for our colleagues' skill building and professional development.
The Learning Technology Specialist will influence the design of the digital learning environment and drive the integration and adoption of technology into our global management, leadership and professional skills development learning offerings. This individual advocates for the learner experience, leveraging data, user experience methodologies, and technology to support a digital, data-driven, modern, and personalized learning experience, allowing our employees to operate effectively to achieve business goals.
Responsibilities Include:
- Applies deep expertise and knowledge to design, analyze and execute learning technology solutions, tools, and methods to improve the digital learning experience and infrastructure
- Influences and partners with SMEs, program managers, and other learning professionals on incorporating technology, methods, data, and digital opportunities to drive accessibility and scalability of our learning solutions
- Influences and collaborates with Information Technology, HR Information Systems, and other technology partners for support and optimization of learning technologies and infrastructure
- Analyzes, develops and implements complex technology integration models and establishes and applies best practices to the learning ecosystem
- Coordinates cross functional teams to implement, administer, and troubleshoot the digital learning environment (e.g. LMS, LxP, Microsoft O365 tools, Articulate 360, mobile apps, and other technology, tools), and infrastructure
- Manages testing and piloting of new technologies, methods, and tools for continuous learner experience improvement and relevancy.
- Keeps up to date on industry and emerging learning technology trends, system features and enhancements, and best practices to apply to the learner experience and infrastructure
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher with experience related to instructional systems design, learning technologies, computer science, or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in learning system/platform management, system integration, and/or content management
- Familiarity with APIs and learning tools interoperability (LTI)
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 collaboration, workflow, and automation tools and direct experience in applying to support digital experiences
- Direct experience in designing and supporting responsive platforms and mobile applications
- Experience in designing and maintaining scalable systems and best practices
- Knowledge of Design Thinking and Agile methodologies
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and solve technological problems and influence solutions
- Demonstrated excellence in written, verbal communication, and collaborative teamwork
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and cross-functionally and to develop and maintain strong partner relationships
- Ability to work with multiple projects simultaneously and with changing priorities
