The Department of Applied Psychology (http://www.LN.edu.hk/psy/) is the latest establishment in the Faculty of Social Sciences. The Department builds on the strengths of faculty in the field of positive occupational health psychology, human-computer interactions, and cross-cultural psychology. In line with the liberal arts tradition of the University, the Department is also strongly committed to providing high quality teaching and a supportive learning environment to students.

General Requirements

The appointee should have a PhD degree in Psychology with relevant experience and is expected to provide evidence of quality teaching. Areas of teaching specialization are open but the appointee is expected to teach at least three of the following courses: “Emotional Happiness”, “Exploring Psychology in Western and Chinese Cultures”, “Positive Psychology and Positive Living”, “Self-improvement, Personal and Work Success”, “Human Relationship and Interpersonal Skills in Organizations” and “Introduction to Psychology”.

Appointment

The conditions of appointment will be competitive. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity and incoming passage and baggage allowance for the eligible appointee. Appointment will normally be made on a fixed-term contract of up to two years.
