Responsibilities:

Reporting to the General Counsel, the successful candidate will be required to provide professional legal advice and solutions to a broad range of legal issues.  S/he will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and advising on legal and contractual documentation, advising on transactions, operational and regulatory matters, participating in negotiations and supporting and/or deputizing for General Counsel on a variety of legal issues.  As a key member of the legal team, s/he will have to provide practical legal solutions for the Authority’s business needs whilst ensuring that risks are appropriately managed.

Requirements:

The successful candidate must be a qualified Hong Kong lawyer with at least twelve years’ post qualification working experience.  S/he should have proven experience and ability in corporate and commercial matters, possess excellent drafting skills, demonstrate high level general advisory capability and have a solid grasp of the general legal landscape. Some dispute resolution and corporate finance experience would be an advantage.  Commercially astute and solution oriented, s/he should possess strong interpersonal skills, and be a team player with leadership qualities and the ability to handle legal issues independently and proactively in a dynamic environment.  Fluent written and spoken Cantonese and English is essential and proficiency in Mandarin would be an advantage.  Lawyers with experience from private practice and/or in house will be considered.
