Specific Duties and Accountabilities of the Job:

• Leads local industry and intelligence gathering to support development of Global Logistics strategies across core functions, including origin cargo manager, airfreight forwarder, ocean carrier selection and allocation to ensure year-round operational excellence
• Manages key senior level relationships at sourcing origins with external stakeholders and service providers to keep current of country infrastructure plans and progress to enable cost-efficient flow of merchandise
• Drives planning and implementation of supply chain solutions to support Walmart sourcing strategies (eg. Country of Origin, Special program, peak season, buy trip planning support, etc.)
• Collaborates with all stakeholders (GS functional teams, 3rd party logistics providers, retail markets, suppliers, etc.) to enable EDLC and On Shelf Availability, across all merchandise types and all retail formats and channels
• Analyzes business needs, evaluates processes, identifies opportunities, and leads projects and initiatives to unlock supply chain value
• Oversees the resources deployment to ensure level of service
• Tracks key metrics, initiates improvement plans, and drives business results
• Identifies leverage opportunities and integrates logistics processes across different functions and retail markets
• Provides guidance, supports and development opportunities to associates
• Provides expertise, insights and trainings to stakeholders to support business needs
• Communicates market intelligence and formulates logistics contingency plan with stakeholders
• Supports management to meet business needs
• Strengthens company reputation and local involvement
  

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements:

• Proven competence on judgment / decision making / measured risk taking / planning and execution / sense of urgency etc.
• Solid knowledge of supply chain logistics and procurement office operations
• Solid leadership & coaching skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
• Additional language skills preferred – Chinese, Spanish
• High standards in personal and professional integrity
• Project management experience
• Knowledge of Walmart supply chain and its variances according to each retail market and industry practice
• Excellent people skills to build and lead strong cross-cultural and cross- functional teams
• Knowledge of global trade, documentation and financial transactions related to international commerce
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications
