Job Description
Primary Responsibilities: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the job requirements at the time it was prepared. 1. Drive program delivery to enable strategic ends
a. Position Lilly as the preferred clinical trial sponsor amongst pharmaceutical companies in China by developing local solutions that address clinical research customer requirements and preferences.
i. Understand clinical research site requirements and preferences
ii. Measure clinical research site preferences of Lilly versus our peer companies
iii. Reflect clinical research site requirements in transformation requirements
b. Enable China to join global simultaneous drug development by implementing elements of Next Generation Development and Next Generation Research strategic initiatives that are essential to China’s timely and effective contribution.
i. Understand global strategic inititiatives and their impact on glocal drug development participation requirements
ii. Conduct gap assessment on initives relative to implementation in China
iii. Measure China’s ability to achieve target cycle time and quality requirements for global development participation
c. Respond to external clinical research customer and regulatory requirements by adapting global Lilly process and technology initiatives to fit local China circumstances
i. Understand external regulatory environment requirements
ii. Propose adaptations, where needed, to meet environment requirements
iii. Ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met by adapted project implementation
2. Deliver transformation projects
a. Develop a clear project charter including:
i. Project goals and value measurement
ii. Implementation approaches and oversight
iii. Resource needs and project project timeline
iv. Risk identification, mitigation, and oversight
v. Integration into overall portfolio and other project dependencies
vi. Aquiring and directing resources for the project, including external services, TPOs, and contractors
vii. Shaping deliverables
b. Lead overall project delivery including:
i. Project planning
ii. Raising and leading the resolution of risks, escalating and engaging others as appropriate for mitigation and/or project adjustment
iii. Completing project tasks
iv. Communicating/demonstrating project results
v. Identify issues and course corrections as needed
c. Project measurement and documentation:
i. Project timeline and progress to delivery milestones
ii. Project assumptions and learning goals - and associated project outcomes
iii. Value potential and tangible impact where possible
3. Communication and integration
a. Communicate regular status updates to the team, leadership, steering committee and other project stakeholders
b. In the case of a pilot implementation, make plans to scale implementation across the portfolio assuming pilot success.
c. Partner with colleagues and associated functional leaders to advance project to the next stage of development for ultimate transition to the functional home.
4. Quality & Asset Protection
a. Ensure all project work is compliant to company policies and international standards of practice. Where necessary, partner with leadership, policy owners and stakeholders to update policies to enable a new, innovative model of work while maintaining core Lilly values.
b. Ensure team reviews, understand and complies with Lilly asset protection.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a scientific or health-related field
Minimum of 3-5 years’ CRA or 2 years’ country study manger or similar position working experience in clinical trials
Fluent English communication in reading, writing and spoken formats
Strong self-management and organization skills
Project management skills
Strong problem solving and communication skills (both verbal and written)
Good computer Microsoft office software skills
Need to travel periodically within China
Need to have some meetings with global team out of working time
