Job Description
Will be the Communications Manager for AZ Chennai and part of the Business Performance Team. Single point of contact for Internal and external Communication of AstraZeneca Chennai. Responsible for managing official company content (developing, editing, collating, standardizing company content). Responsible for managing vendors to deliver the requisite content & collaterals for the organisation. Will own the positioning of the AZ Chennai brand both internally and externally.
Role and Responsibilities
Internal Communications:
- Create a communication plan/strategy (Internal & External) for the organization and liaise with internal & external partners for the same
- Drive organisational communications compliance with reference to the usage of the right formats, branding guidelines and communication standards by creating the right guidelines & frameworks to ensure adherence across the site
- Drive organisational guidelines on the types of events to participate in and they type of material to be presented
- Manage internal communication (AZ Chennai – announcements) from conceptualization to copy to implementation; Have strong capabilities to motivate change management across the site in a timely manner
- Support the Organization across pan site communications specific to events such as Annual Day, Compliance Week, Lean week etc.
- Ensure maximize engagement, including newsletters and messages to target communities, articles on the Group’s Internal Communications platforms, and the intranet (Nucleus). As well, ensure the global content is shared locally in a timely manner
- Liaise with global/internal partners to build brand AZ Chennai
- Use data analysis, graphic design, and programming expertise and all appropriate graphics and technology tools to present data in ways that are accurate, accessible, appealing, innovative and, in many cases, interactive as well
- Create a internal repository as a single source for all AZ Chennai collaterals for site wide access Eg. A website. sharepoint site
- Own the Employee Engagement Initiative
- Develop content specific to site townhalls and other leadership visits
- Consult with various leaders within the site on how AZ Chennai should be represented internally as well as externally
External Communications/Branding:
- Develop a strong & manage a vendor contract to ensure that AZ Chennai is well represented in various forums (External Events/Media -Print/Digital/Television/Campus/Government & Industry bodies such as NASSCOM & CII)
- Ability to manage multiple vendor relationships specific to External & Internal branding so that the right collaterals are available in place eg. Corporate video, Corporate leader shoots etc
- Ability to discern/nominate the right forums where the AZ brand is to be represented
- Manage external communication (LinkedIn, News Reports & other Social Media)
- Providing inputs/ editing/ proofreading material shared on AZ Chennai externally
Essential Skills and experience
- Experience of working in Corporate Communication Teams, Marketing, Public Relations or Media
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and other design tools; Business Presentation Skills & copy editing skills an added bonus
- Excellent written and spoken communication and Commendable Interpersonal skills
- A go-getter who can lead by example and still be a teammate in a rapidly changing priorities landscape
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and someone who takes initiatives
- Master’s / Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Visual Communication or equivalent
