Scope

The Airbnb Host Education, Inclusion and Communication team is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced educational content development expert to help our team educate and inspire Airbnb Hosts globally. 

You will play a key role in building our team’s ability to deliver creative, engaging and inspirational educational content for our Airbnb Hosts worldwide as well as build a team with expertise in the areas of instructional design, learning experience design and learner engagement.  You will have the opportunity to demonstrate and role model best in the industry educational content development skills through hands on development of new educational programs for hosts unlike anything they have seen.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the Host Educational Content Development team to design and deliver the programs and learning experiences that inspire and teach Hosts across the world
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (within Host Education, Inclusion and Communications and across the Airbnb Hosting organization) to implement strategies to support host knowledge, inspire learning and build capability
• Drive strategies to develop best-in-class personalized learning experiences for hosts that enable growth 
• Be a leader on learning industry trends to foster greater design and delivery innovation and efficiency, as well as learning impact and learner accessibility.
• Evaluate the business impact of educational programs through use of performance metrics/trends.
• Develop experimental learning strategies leveraging various delivery methods 
• Leverage instructional design and authoring tool experience and knowledge to design and develop creative, learner-centered educational programs, courses, microlearning tutorials, simulations, scenarios and materials in multiple modalities 
• Consult with cross functional stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs) and hosts to recommend appropriate learning solutions based on sound adult learning techniques
• Stay up to date on instructional design research, trends, technology, and tools

Desired Qualities and Qualifications:

• 10+ years of relative learning, organization development, and/or consulting experience.
• 7+ years experience leading multi-discipline teams
• Proven experience developing and leading learning programs that delivered high learner impact 
• Forward-thinking experience in learning and development functions with a broad focus to include design, development, learning systems/technology, learning measurement, and learner-centric learning experiences
• Excellent team management and people development capabilities, including management of a geographically distributed team.
• Thought leader and creative subject matter expert
• Analytical skills with the ability to translate data and trends into key insights and recommendations.
• Highly collaborative with the ability to work positively with cross-functional stakeholders and align them on common goals
• Track record of leading large scale, high impact, cross-functional efforts and driving projects from ideation to strategy and implementation 
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work streams and influence deliverables in a highly matrixed organization structure

The starting base pay for this role is between $180,000 and $225,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: education, experience, and skills. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
