Job Description
Eaton’s Corporate Information Technology team is looking for a Senior Manager - Enterprise Data Assets. The preferred locations for this position are Beachwood, OH, Moon Township, PA, or Waukesha, WI, but this position could be based at any US Eaton location. At Eaton we are modernizing the way we use data to accelerate our digital transformation. In this role, you will set the strategy, roadmap and implementation of Eaton's enterprise data products as part of the Chief Data Management office. You will work with business and IT stakeholders to define a semantic ontology by business domain, as well as instantiate key Data Products such as Purchase Orders, Quality, Inventory, IoT, Finance to create a common source of truth for analytics development. You define KPIs and OKRs for these products, including quality, usage, and business value to shift the enterprise into treating data as a 1st class citizen in application design, leading to a modern Data Mesh information architecture. In addition, you will be responsible for a team of full stack Data Engineers that will deliver business outcomes for Eaton's global Supply Chain, providing a unique opportunity for both technology product ownership as well as direct business alignment to drive outcomes such as inventory analytics, alternate supplier analysis, predictive commits and more. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute on a comprehensive enterprise data product strategy as part of the overall Eaton IT enterprise architecture and business strategy, across a complex IT and business landscape. Lead a global team of 30+ employees and contractors to deliver data products and solutions in a DevOps model. Design, implement and materialize semantic data models across a wide variety of business domains, harmonizing data across disparate IT systems. Provide a comprehensive user and developer education program to accelerate onboarding into a governed self-service data ecosystem. Partner with business stakeholders to define Critical Data Elements (CDEs and business-oriented KPIs around data quality and availability, lineage, usage and business value with an eye toward data monetization. Partner with business and IT teams to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, highly performant and governed in accordance with data privacy and regulatory requirements. Produce enterprise information roadmaps for the lifecycle of Eaton's data products, governed through data councils by domain and subject area and published and curated for consumption in an enterprise data catalog. Technical Knowledge: Deep knowledge of logical and physical data modeling techniques and semantic data definition frameworks. Demonstrated experience in leading teams and building high quality data products through a combination of SQL, Python, orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Data Factory) and ETL (Airbyte, Informatica, Talend, Fivetran). Demonstrated experience in Product and Portfolio Management in an Agile team environment. Adept at implementing automated CI/CD pipelines for data. Demonstrated experience implementing data quality, data profiling and data observability frameworks and techniques. Experience working with industrial manufacturing and Supply Chain business outcomes a positive but not a must. Experience with data models from major ERPs (Oracle, SAP), CRMs (Salesforce) and PLMs (Enovia) desired. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required. A minimum of 10 years in data management experience required. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience required. Candidate must be authorized to work in the US on a continuous basis without company sponsorship. Position Criteria: Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community & with vendors. Experience diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems. Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems. Experience managing cross-functional and/or matrix teams. Experience managing a budget to plan and delivering to meet financial goals. Experience interacting at the executive level. Experience managing application delivery. Experience managing high-level technical delivery. Experience influencing leadership and key stakeholders on technology solutions. Experience applying knowledge of the new processes and concepts in IT management, structure and organization. Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The annual salary range for this role is $149,600 - $205,700 a year. Eligible for an annual performance-based incentive plan with a target at 24% of base salary.
