Job Description

What will you do?
The Sr Manager, Finance leads a team of Financial Analysts, providing analytical, reporting, and strategic support to the Portfolio Management team. They will gain exposure to upper management and gain experience with supplier negotiations and strategy development. They are expected to become an integral member of the Portfolio Management team and assist in making strategic business decisions and drive additional profitability for the company. This position provides a unique opportunity for a motivated self-starter to demonstrate their ability to add significant value to the Customer Channel Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of analysts, establishing goals, managing performance, coaching and providing feedback. Ensures business continuity of Departmental activities
  • Complete annual and quarterly forecasts for financial metrics with minimal guidance from management, and present forecast to business leaders.
  • Manage chart of accounts in line with GAAP. Responsible for close activities including account reviews, explanation of variances at Controllers meeting and managing audit requests
  • Develop, track, report, and analyze key financial metrics for Portfolio Management, including supplier growth rates, portfolio expansion and supplier rebates.
  • Communicate risks and opportunities to expected results and develop contingency plans to deliver on the financial commitments.
  • Provide analytical support (proforma’s, margin analysis, category analysis) in order to drive business decisions. Understand drivers of profitability, challenge current business assumptions in order to formulate and recommend opportunities for financial improvements and participate in their implementation.
  • Lead business partner activities with key operational team members, being effective on supporting their goals by understanding key drivers and providing business insights through detail analysis.
  • Lead role in department initiatives from development through implementation of solutions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to manage process change, identifying and breaking down barriers.
  • Strong written communication skills, along with clear and concise verbal skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex financial analysis to business leaders and to obtain operational buy-in.

  • Expert user of Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, etc.); advanced skills with PowerPoint, Data Warehouses, COGNOS, preferred.

How will you get here?
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or MBA in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other relevant background.
  • 8 – 10+ years of prior work experience
