Eaton is seeking a Senior Manager, Global Communications to support the Industrial Sector and Technology Office. This position is based at our Corporate Headquarters in Beachwood, Ohio. Relocation assistance will be provided. Position Overview: The Senior Manager, Global Communications for the Industrial Sector and Technology Office, is responsible for developing and executing internal and external communication strategies that support Eaton’s business objectives. The position’s span of control includes employee communications and engagement, C-level executive thought leadership support, public relations, media relations, social media, issues management, agency management, and branding. The successful candidate will bring a global perspective to this role and collaborate closely with many stakeholders across the enterprise. Stakeholders include executive leadership, communications teams, human resources, legal, marketing communications, business unit leadership and personnel, sales, and service suppliers. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working collaboratively to build strong relationships inside and outside the company, contribute new and creative ideas, and be viewed as a trusted and respected advisor to executive leadership. Essential Responsibilities: Lead the planning, development and execution of an integrated sector communications strategy. This includes developing a clear, concise and consistent messages reinforcing the sector and company priorities and ensuring a regular cadence of communications to motivate, inform and engage team members. Partner with the Chief Operating Officer of the Industrial Sector and Chief Technology Officer to design, write and deploy all communications from their respective offices. Counsel and coach other leaders on effective communications. Includes partnering on speeches, videos, presentation, thought leadership, social media strategies and issues management. Write, edit and oversee the development of communications materials, including communications plans, press releases, talking points and FAQs. Work closely with business and functional leaders like Sector HR Team to address communication priorities. Oversee the development and execution of an editorial content strategy focused on creating and sustaining an ongoing dialog with target audiences. Anticipate, effectively manage, and resolve issues that can generate unplanned media attention and or impact company reputation. Promote collaboration and teamwork across the communications team and build and maintain strong relationships with communications leaders and their teams in business units and key corporate functions. Provides leadership of the Aerospace communications team and functional leadership for Vehicle, Golf Grip and Filtration communications teams. Establishes annual objectives for the team and directs the development, execution and evaluation of communications plans. Primary contact for business-related crisis communication activities (includes product recalls, health and safety events, environmental response plans for the Industrial and Electrical Sectors as needed). Provides functional leadership for Sector Marketing Communications teams. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required Minimum 10 years of experience in communications leadership roles in a corporation or PR agency setting Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing or English; Master’s degree preferred. Position Criteria: Proven track record of successfully establishing and managing communications programs. Strategic thinker and planner, able to lead and engage in planning processes, establish priorities and evaluate results. Substantial and demonstrated experience working directly with executive leaders - executive presence, confidence and credibility. Expertise in employee communications, social media strategies, thought leadership activities, public and community relations, speech writing, media relations, issues management, digital marketing communications, and event management. Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate strategies and messages clearly and concisely. Must be a self-starter, with energy and enthusiasm. Recent and consistent record of effective strategic planning. Ability to successfully manage, influence or develop high performance, dispersed teams. A high functioning multi-tasker, with effective organizational habits and superior attention to detail.
