Objective of job
- The Teamlead of IT Research & Development (R&D) China is responsible to provide powerful and customized IT solutions for an efficient processing of engineering tasks to research and development departments of Daimler Greater China (DGRC).
- The provided Engineering IT solutions include IT processes, methods and systems which are developed by Engineering IT Mercedes-Benz in Germany or solutions developed locally.
- The IT R&D Teamlead is also responsible to setup and drive a comprehensive framework to push digital transformation together with the business unit focusing on E2E processes and data chains.

Task description
* People Management
- Motivation and development of staff using HR tools, founded on our mission statement & corporate values, and provision of purposeful internal communications in order to achieve the agreed objectives.
- Ensuring that the necessary training appropriate to the needs of individual employees and the tasks assigned to them is provided.
- Informing subordinated employees about the relevant provisions and instructing them to comply with the provisions. Ensuring that they are implemented properly.
- Makes useful links to provide insightful plans and solutions
- Organized and methodical with a can-do/will-do approach
- Think outside the box’ to generate business value for customers/ business units, thinking creatively to develop new/improved solutions
- Exhibit a willingness to do things differently and translate ideas into actions that deliver results

* Strategy and Development:
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice of ITD and RD’s strategy, policies, processes and procedures to improve operational performance
- Ability to capture and specify the requirements, development and validate the needs to deliver successful result to meet/exceed the business unit’s specifications

* Demand Management
- Main contact person for R&D IT topics
- Demand and process analysis for Software and Hardware requirements
- Close collaboration with global COCs in Engineerging IT Mercedes-Benz Cars to align local demands with global solutions and products
* Service- Design & Delivery
- Ensure optimal usage of R&D systems and processes
- Local roll-out of Daimler R&D-IT-solutions
- System development for local IT RD solution
- Major services include:
o Solutions for software development areas in China
o PDM expert support (Smaragd, ACM)
o VR/AR services
o IT4 highly automated driving
o Process Optimizations
o Testing Systems Expertise
o IT Security Governance and Consultants
- Service portfolio is being continuously aligned with customer needs in RD China.
* Quality Management
- Monitoring status of digital vehicle development
- Define and control compliance of methods, processes, standards
- Ensure IT-Security standards as local ISO for RD China
- Governance for application landscape of R&D China as local IO
* Skill & Supplier Management
- Defining support concepts and ensure suitable support
- Steering of external support
- Vendor management
- Install regular power user meetings
- provide system trainings for BU
* Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders (China & Germany) to ensure optimal performance
- Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with company strategy
- Communicate with stakeholders the impact of market change and potential effects
- Recommend solutions without compromising quality or service while optimizing cost
- Stay current and up to date on changes, contribute to new business initiatives and projects
