Predictive Real Time Sensing Portfolio Lead

You will own and lead all process, financial, and governance aspects of the Predictive Real Time Sensing Digital Innovation initiative.
We are seeking a Sr. Program Manager in our Thousand Oaks, CA headquarters or Tampa, FL of remote in the US to join our Predictive Real Time Sensing team to help drive productivity through the company using technology to unlock opportunities to stop, optimize processes and then automate as appropriate. Responsibilities:
Accountable for the agile execution of the Predictive Real Time sensing capability across multiple agile teams and scrum masters.
Manage the key system integrators that will be key suppliers of delivering the sensing capability
Work closely with PM’s, software engineers, architects and technical SMEs, to deliver optimized digital solution.
Track, Measure and extract value via KPI’s, $’s that can be communicated to executive leadership
Implement, grow, and mature agile execution frameworks, including process, resourcing, and governance for the program teams
Manage program finances to ensure compliance with budget, forecasts, and cash flow standards as part of the Operations DTI Data and Analytics capability
Establish and solidify program funding and execution processes to align with Information Systems requirements
Implement framework for monitoring overall program execution status to program leadership
Mentor/coach junior project management or scrum masters
A day in the life:
You are leading from the front engaging with business functions across the company to help deliver Sensing capabilities for Amgen
Partnering with strategy group at Amgen and business partners to deliver initiatives
Lead a team of PM’s, Communication resources to ensure structure of how we operate within the program
Drive financial compliance/adherence of the program via the various projects
Own overall Program roadmap and communicate program status/milestones to executive leadership
Ensure products teams are operating in the spirit of Agile and have backlogs that are being handled optimally.

The Predictive Real Time Sensing team is part of the Digital technology and Innovation organization at Amgen that is focused on improving decision making for our senior leadership through providing faster access to data, anticipating key opportunities and predicting actions. This is a highly visible team with a remit to help shape the future pipeline of Amgen products by unlocking value

What we expect of you
We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The Product Owner or Scrum Master professional we seek is an Agile methodology authority with these qualifications.
Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience
OR Master’s degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience
OR Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Information Systems experience
OR Associate’s degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience
OR High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience
And
2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluent in Agile methodologies with respect to technology solutions and their development and timeline.
- Experience as a Product Owner or Scrum Master advantageous.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with scientific domain expertise to communicate effectively with various partners within the organization
- Self-motivated individual with demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and technologies, work multi-functionally in teams (internal and external)
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to concisely present various subjects to leadership and coordinate all functional leads to provide requested data/updates
- Skilled with building business cases for funding initiatives within an executive forum
- Experienced in leading multiple product-focused, agile teams of up to 50+ individuals (e.g. 7 teams of 7 people) using a flexible approach ranging from servant leadership to directive depending on the situation – both directly and through a team of scrum masters
- Understanding and experience in project management with software development teams with a deep experience and passion around Scrum and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe),
- You will have a consultant attitude, with the ability to clarify and control a diverse and shifting program lifecycle. Creativity and flexibility will be key components to excelling in this role.
