The Insights Analytics Manager will take the lead in building a solid business relationship, to understand their objectives and what they want to get from the data before devising and delivering a plan to meet these needs. You will be leading a team of Insight Analysts and Data Architects, but it will be up to the Manager to manage workloads to ensure the projects are completed on time to a high standard.

The role will drive the analysis of data to support the business processes they are enabling looking after Supply Chain, manufacturing, Quality. Through analysis specify reports and data visualizations (e.g., charts, dashboards, heat maps) to aid in data storytelling within the defined project scope. The role employs the use of dedicated business intelligence applications and may also use analytical software.

Typical Accountabilities

• Manage a team of Insight Analysts and Information Architects

• Oversee analytical and data visualization solutions designed to drive the interrogation of datasets for insights in multiple scientific and business application areas.

• Leads projects of defined scope, potentially across multiple locations

• Collaborates across the AstraZeneca Data and AI community to develop best practices and cross-functional opportunities that drive value.

• Responsible for bridging the gap between IT and the business using data analytics to assess processes, determine requirements and deliver data-driven recommendations and reports to executives and stakeholders.

• Be visible on internal social media promoting analytics and team deliverables, showcase benefits and driving adoption of the AZ analytics platforms.

• Develop and input into data and analytics strategies

• Build and manage effective relationships with a range of senior stakeholders to ensure utilization and value of information resources and services. Clearly and objectively communicate results, as well as their associated uncertainties and limitations

• Collaborates across the AstraZeneca Data and AI community to develop best practices and cross-functional opportunities that drive value

• Review and develop working practices to ensure that work is delivered to robust quality standards within the defined scope

• Provide training and advice to collaborators on optimal use of key data and analysis

• Apply ongoing knowledge and awareness in trends, standard methodology and new developments in analytics to influence functional practices. Responsible for training and developing junior colleagues in best practices and principles.

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

• Line Management experience

• Demonstrated skills and experience of promoting and marketing of previous data analytic and visualization projects ideally via videos and social media.

• Good understanding of at least one business area from either Supply Chain or manufacturing

• Demonstrates previous experience in bridging the gap between IT and the business using data analytics to assess processes, determine requirements and deliver data-driven recommendations and reports to executives and stakeholders.

• Familiarity with visualization tools and database systems, technical-minded and self-driven to learn AZ standard tooling.

• Senior Stakeholder management experience

• Experience of defining data and analytics strategies

• Advanced ability to draw conclusions from data and present in succinct fashion storytelling to senior stakeholders

• Excellent written and verbal communication, business analysis, and consultancy skill

• Bachelors Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent years of experience

• Master’s degree in data & Analytics, mathematics, computer science, statistics or a related quantitative discipline.

• Experience in life sciences and healthcare

• An excellent understanding of BI and Data Warehousing
