Task

We are looking for a Head of Legal & Compliance for Daimler Commercial Vehicles Thailand (DCVT), the General Distributor for Mitsubishi Fuso and Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Buses in Thailand. You would be part of a dynamic team within the distribution network of an international organization and a member of the global Legal & Compliance family within the Daimler Truck Group. For our organization in Thailand, you would be leading a team of 3 and would be the first point of contact for all Legal and Compliance related inquiries with internal and external exposure and direct access to the local CEO.

While your team would be responsible for Legal & Compliance, your daily work would mainly focus on Legal tasks by providing required corporate governance and ongoing legal business support to enable and safeguard business opportunities in the growing commercial vehicle business. You would further supervise the Compliance work in your team, which is focused on Anti-Trust, Anti-Corruption, Sanctions Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering, Data Protection and Human Rights Compliance.

You would maintain and further develop an effective and efficient local Legal & Compliance Management in accordance with Daimler’s corporate requirements and local laws and regulations. In other words: You would help the company to enable business opportunities and you would protect the company and its people from harm! This includes…

• Being the first point of contact for all Legal & Compliance related inquiries; if necessary, align within the Legal & Compliance Trucks Asia Team, other relevant parts of Daimler Truck’s global  Legal & Compliance organization, sales business partners or external law firms


• Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations in relation to all business conducts, monitor development of applicable national legal framework


• Ensuring corporate governance and ongoing legal business support (contract reviews, M&A transactions, regulatory matters, litigations and other legal disputes etc.)


• Creating and sustaining awareness and a common understanding of Legal & Compliance topics on local level through various means of communication and interactions


• Conducting Compliance risk assessments according to Daimler standards, effectiveness monitoring and reporting


• Developing and sustaining effective unit governance structures and procedures for Legal & Compliance oversight and management, including defined accountability for Legal & Compliance responsibilities


• Implementing and maintaining of processes, clear standards of business and ethical conduct consistent with Daimler corporate standards


• Supporting the local management in assuming and executing its responsibility to implement and maintain effective Legal & Compliance structures on unit level in accordance with corporate requirements and local laws and regulations


• Ensuring close communication and alignment with all relevant stakeholders, obtaining support and collaboration from management and all employees


• Ongoing, effective communications and training on relevant requirements for both internal stakeholders as well as external business partners


• Implementing risk based control procedures based on Daimler Truck standard


• Constantly challenging and developing the status quo (both on HQ level and locally) further, looking for the most effective and risk adequate solutions for our internal customers
