What is this role?

SDL is currently on a mission to transform its marketing operations function. As the leader of the marketing operations team, you will be responsible for the processes and systems that drive the effectiveness of our global marketing organization - and you will have the resources to get the job done.

You are someone who knows how to lead and grow others and think strategically while also working hands-on to ensure priorities are delivered. Your work will directly impact the company’s bottom line as you seek out efficiencies, introduce innovations, and champion change. 

This role reports to the VP of Portfolio Marketing and can be based in either of SDL’s San Jose, California or Superior, Colorado offices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the marketing operations function, including hiring and coaching the team and having ultimate accountability for MOPS performance.

• Serve as the global administrator of SDL’s MarTech stack, including Marketo, leading a team of other Marketo professionals and working with our agency partner to ensure best-in-class architecture and scalability.

• Ensure the continuous improvement of processes across the marketing operations function.

• Own the definition of marketing’s core metrics and the delivery of marketing analytics. Lead the charge to clean our data and implement governance policies to keep it pristine.

• Work cross-functionally with Sales Operations, IT, Analytics, and other departments to drive change and deliver on business priorities.

• Manage the relationship with marketing software vendors and agencies.

• Own the marketing team’s budgetary process, including the process of cost-tracking to feed closed-loop ROI reporting.

Ideal Candidate’s Skills and Experience

You are an advanced-level Marketo user who is also interested in process optimization, data-driven marketing, and providing leadership and coaching to others.

• Bachelor’s degree

• 4+ years of Marketo experience with Marketo Certified Expert designation

• 6-10 years business and marketing experience

• Strong project management and change management capabilities

• Previous experience in a management role

• Familiarity with Salesforce Sales Cloud platform

• Familiarity with business intelligence and marketing attribution

• Ability to navigate culture and politics across multiple functions

• Ability to translate business objectives to technical requirements

• Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to audience needs
