Position Title: Senior Manager, Commercial Excellence, Genetic Testing Solutions
How will you make an impact?
The Senior Manager, Commercial Excellence will be a key member of the Global Genetic Testing Solutions (GTS) Commercial Leadership Team to drive accountability and ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness in partnership with the GTS commercial leaders throughout the regions and Genetic Sciences Division (GSD) business, as well as the Senior Director, Commercial Excellence. You will do this by understanding the business, markets, selling cycle/processes/challenges and regional nuances and act as a change agent to drive commercial initiatives to ensure projects meet business objectives and are accomplished on time and within budget. This role reports into the VP, Commercial Global Genetic Testing Solutions.
Based remotely for national coverage.
What will you do?
- Optimize and manage effective and efficient operating mechanisms for the Commercial GTS leadership team to establish a scalable operations platform to ensure aggressive execution, efficiency, profitability, and compliance across the businesses.
- Drive consensus and achieve buy-in across a complex global matrix organization by building trust amongst colleagues and developing strong, respectful relationships.
- Develop and drive a one year execution plan and a three year strategic plan that will help achieve the Business Unit growth objectives and future state vision for commercial operations within the global GTS Commercial business.
- Lead and project manage special initiatives as needed by the team (e.g., deep dive/trouble shooting of a specific problem, pursuit of an opportunity, kick start of a strategic initiative). These projects could be in a region, across our divisions or cut across the group or company functions.
- Optimize and manage the operating mechanisms and calendar for the GTS Commercial Leadership team, so the right degree of alignment and connectivity is achieved.
- You will need a track record demonstrating:
- Building and running innovative, efficient, and effective operating mechanisms that support a global commercial business.
- Excellent analytical, project management and planning skills with the ability to learn quickly.
- Change agent who can drive projects across a global commercial business by understanding regional/business uniqueness in partnership with the global objectives to build scalable and robust solutions.
- Sound strategic thinking.
- Exceptional communication skills whether it is to be able to articulate a complex strategy and to translate it into impactful presentations, or to communicate effectively with a global and diverse team. Skills require include listening, facilitation, conflict resolution, negotiation, and influence.
- Strong relationship building skills required, including experience bringing together diverse groups of stakeholders and helping them to work through to common solutions that meet the needs of the groups and the organization, while maintaining relationships.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bio-Engineering or related science, is required. A graduate degree in one of these disciplines or an MBA would be preferred.
- 8+ years of commercial and/or commercial operations experience within a Large Life Sciences organization.
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience within a commercial organization, with 3 years of experience in commercial operations preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in a large and complex organization in a biotech industry preferred.
- Commercial experience in more than one geographic region (e.g. North America, EMEA, APAC) required, Life Sciences industry preferred.
- Proficiency with computer applications, including SalesForce.com, Seibel, CRM, word processing, spreadsheet, and advanced slide presentations skills required.
- Ability to be comfortable with ambiguity and stepping outside of his/her comfort zone and show initiative.
- Travel: 25% - 50%.
