The Job

Reporting to General Manager (Policy Development), the appointee will lead a small team to assist in developing proposals relating to the policy setting of the MPF system and the ORSO system and reforms on the issue of retirement protection. The main responsibilities include: 

• To assist in reviewing the MPF Schemes Ordinance and Occupational Retirement Schemes Ordinance and proposing legislation amendments to improve the overall effectiveness and operation of the MPF system and the ORSO system;
• To prepare research and discussion papers in relation to possible refinements to and reforms of the MPF system and the ORSO system;
• To assist in developing and implementing proposals relating to refinements to and reforms of the MPF system and the ORSO system;
• To undertake formal and informal consultation processes with various stakeholders;
• To support relevant internal and external committees; and
• To perform other duties as assigned by the Management.

The Person

• A recognized degree in any discipline;
• At least eight years of relevant working experience in trust business / management of pension / retirement schemes, legal / compliance, insurance / finance / investment, accounting / auditing or research / policy development, of which at least three years should be at Manager level or above;
• Strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
• Strong in people management with sound leadership qualities;
• Excellent in interpersonal and communication skills, and sensitive to social and economic issues; and
• A good team player and able to work independently and under pressure and tight deadlines.

Remuneration Package

A competitive remuneration and benefits package including a discretionary performance-linked variable pay, annual leave, medical, dental and life insurance coverage, and MPF will be offered. The appointment will be made initially on a two-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of renewal of the appointment, subject to operational needs and staff performance.
