Senior Manager, Pricing, Contracting and Negotiations

Position Type: Full-Time

Location: Mississauga, ON

Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for building, supporting and executing pricing strategies for the AstraZeneca's portfolio of products. You build a variety of strategies, support scenario analysis as part of the market access and brand planning process, and provide new insights on emerging trends, challenges and opportunities aligned to our strategic direction.

Responsibilities:

·Product Pricing Strategy

  • Build and secure approval for pricing strategies designed to maximize commercial contribution of existing and future products
  • Provide expertise to brand teams on PMPRB regulations for emerging and existing products
  • Manage and lead pricing operations and participate in strategic pricing projects and initiatives

·Pricing Compliance and Monitoring

  • Manage pricing approval process and compliance requirements locally and globally including PMPRB reporting, monitoring and issues management
  • Assess and analyze price performance against assumed targets and objectives
  • Work with the Director, team members, Legal, Regulatory, Forecasting, Finance, and the business unit to resolve issues and initiate steps to prevent future problems

·Contract Negotiations

  • Develop pricing models, strategies and scenarios for pCPA and private payer negotiations and product listing agreements to optimize the commercialization of existing or emerging brands
  • Empower team to identify and develop innovative listing agreement (ILA) frameworks for both private and public payers.
  • Build and review financial models supporting the contract negotiations with pCPA and public and payers
  • Provide strategic new insights to Patient Access team related to evaluation of contract terms and conditions and contract negotiations
  • Support the development of term sheets and contract language as required

·Contract Management and Influence

  • Manage and support contracting framework with AstraZeneca Canada, providing new insights with leadership in the application and execution of the contracting management framework
  • Ensure contract documentation requirements are followed
  • Monitor contract and program performance by reviewing and analyzing data; uses this analysis as the basis for recommendations for future contracts and programs
  • Develop management reports and insights from existing contracts, look for improvement and shares expertise across the organization
  • Build relationships with provincial payers, cancer boards and private payers to review and ensure fulfillment of obligations made by AstraZeneca via contractual reimbursement commitments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or life sciences
  • Minimum of 5 years related pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Solid understanding of PMPRB regulations preferred
  • You seek to understand and be knowledgeable of Canadian reimbursement system, structures and key industry players
  • Understanding of contracting practices, contract requirements and review processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills, influencing, communication skills and time management and prioritization skills.
  • You are a long term critical problem solver, highly solutions oriented and passionate about outcomes
  • You enjoy working with all levels of the organization and can influence across the enterprise
  • As a strong teammate, you enjoy collaborating with a broad set of individuals
  • Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills with demonstrated experience required in scenario planning, decision-making and solution development
