ISP Senior Application Manager

Job Description

 

We are looking for an experienced senior applications manager who is passionate about building strong teams and winning in the marketplace. The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated individual, self-starter, independent, able to influence people across multiple organizations, and with extensive experience in DC/DC converter and other power applications. This position will work closely with marketing, management and the applications engineers to develop evaluation circuits, collateral material on new projects, road tests, and define new products, bring them to market and provide best-in-class customer support. This position is critical to organizing a team of 6-10 applications engineers and creating hardware solutions for the field and customers while ensuring the success of our products at the end customer.

 

This role will lead a power applications team located in San Jose, CA. Potential for a position in Raleigh, NC for the correct candidate.

 

Performance Objectives

 

The Successful Candidate Will
 

  • Establish, grow, mentor, and develop a strong applications team.
  • Coordinate applications and field resources inside and outside the business unit to deliver robust solutions on time and provide best-in-class support.
  • Manage and optimize the utilization of highly technical worldwide applications engineering resources. Prioritize activities based on business needs.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, sales, FAEs, and other leaders in the company to evangelize best practices and leverage all shared resources and technologies in Analog Devices.
  • Take ownership of technical issues. Manage, direct and contribute to troubleshooting of issues.
  • Work closely with designers and systems engineers to drive product specifications and ensure compliance with applicable standards
  • Work closely with designers, reliability, product, and systems engineers to gather and analyze data to ensure product success and quality - develop system-level/chip level validation plans and necessary hardware to perform the testing
  • Enable FAE teams worldwide with training, design tools, reference designs, simulation models, and other technical materials to allow them to successfully design in and support cloud power products as independently as possible.
  • Solve challenging technical problems under tight deadlines
  • Participate in strategic business development initiatives by supporting customer visits and developing and executing training materials for customers, field sales and field applications engineers.

     

 


 

Requirements

 

Job Qualifications
 

  • BSEE/MSEE/Ph.D. with +12 years of experience in audio and/or power management products. Prior experience with signal chains is a significant plus.
  • Experience building and leading strong power management applications engineering teams. Ability to attract and develop top talent.
  • Confident, and highly technically competent – able to gain the respect and trust of customers and peers.
  • Strategic and business savvy. Demonstrates sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Able to create the systems and infrastructure for an applications team. Able to be hands-on when needed, but able to scale as the organization grows.
  • Deep understanding of power supply technologies and power delivery in a system. Extensive technical knowledge and hands-on experience designing power management units or systems.
  • Results-oriented with a strong history of execution.
  • A passion for excellence and an intense desire to be part of a growing and winning team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to explain complex technical ideas to a variety of audiences. Experience interfacing with senior executive leaders, both internally and externally.
  • Written and verbal fluency in English is a must.
