Senior Manager Quality Control - Data Analytics & Visualization

What you will do
 

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world! In this Senior Manager Quality Control vital role you will lead Quality Control staff responsible for the Data Analytics and Visualization. The department supports the electronic systems including LIMS, LMES, CDS, and visualization tools (i.e. Cognos, Tableau). This position supports all functions within Quality Control and Manufacturing operations in the Amgen Manufacturing Limited (AML) site. The role will have several responsibilities including: supervision of direct reports, development of staff, leading project teams, and supervising cGMP compliance of function.
 

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provides overall direction to the team.

• Lead department budget based on approved department drivers.

• Translate organizations strategy and mission into meaningful department goals.

• Improve performance by introducing processes and procedures; partner with departments to inspire changes.

• Understand and follow the Human Resources policies, procedures and enforcement.

• Develop training curriculum for department.

• Primary communication link between own department and site.

• Deliver effective messages to department.

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Quality, Manufacturing and/or Information System combined experience

OR

Master’s degree and 6 years of Quality, Manufacturing and/or Information System combined experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Quality, Manufacturing and/or Information System combined experience

OR

Associate’s degree and 10 years of Quality, Manufacturing and/or Information System combined experience

OR

High School diploma / GED and 12 years of Quality, Manufacturing and/or Information System combined experience

AND

2 years of managerial experience managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, and programs or directing the allocation of resources

Beyond that, additional preferred qualifications are:

• Academic background in Computer Sciences, Life Sciences and/or Engineering.

• Strong knowledge and skills in the following systems: LIMS - Laboratory Information Management System (Thermo), LMES - Laboratory Method Execution System (Biovia), CDS - Chromatography Data System (Empower), CIMS - Consumable Management Information System, Cognos, Smartsheet, SAP and Tableau.

• General knowledge of finance and budget management.

• Sophisticated scientific analysis and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to empower and/or supervise the activities of others.

• Well organized, be able to communicate clearly, and work well with other departments.

• Excellent verbal communication - Fully bilingual (English/Spanish).

• Written communication proficiency including technical writing skills, negotiation and conflict resolution.

• Ability to be flexible and lead change.

• Digital literacy (Windows environment: Word, Excel, Power Point, Smartsheet).

• Solid understanding of cGMP’s and skills with the application of scientific theory.

• Ability to interact with regulatory agency inspectors.
