In this role you have the opportunity to
provide strategic and tactical direction to teams within the Quality Engineering and Incoming Quality organizations. As our Senior Quality Engineering Manager (m/f/d) you collaborate with various stakeholders including but not limited to: Operations, Manufacturing, Business Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to drive quality improvement and continuous compliance at your site. You are a driving force in making Royal Philips Quality and Regulatory (Q&R) organization an industry leader through attracting and developing talented professionals, improved customer experience, proactive regulatory compliance and collaborative quality excellence.
You are responsible for
Being a people manager and an advisor for our Quality Engineering Manufacturing team as well as for our Quality Engineering Incoming Inspection team
Developing processes that will allow tracking effectiveness of design transfer for products into manufacturing and ongoing manufacturing process quality. Tracking approaches including KPIs, yields in Manufacturing, Cost of Quality, Quality Nonconformances and other applications of statistical methods
Enabling our Quality team in Böblingen to drive process improvements that accomplish quality objectives
Leading in resolution of assigned Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA) including supporting other associated CAPA objectives
Teaming up with our manufacturing team to sustain the products thought the full life cycle
Ensuring compliance with the Quality System Regulations, 21 CFR Part 820, and ISO 13485
Being an active and valued contributor to the process validation and design transfer activities balancing business objectives and quality requirements to determine readiness of projects to proceed to the next phase
Participating in regulatory inspections, internal and external audits, as assigned in coordination with other applicable company groups
You are part of
our Q&R team reporting directly into the Global Quality Manufacturing, Medical Devices organization and working closely with Manufacturing Operations at the Böblingen business location. You are a resourceful and a strategic thinker who provides results-oriented leadership and creativity to manage an effective and talented Quality organization. Working closely with key stakeholders and leadership within Philips to maintain a robust and efficient Quality Management System, including behaviors that are accepted by our internal and external customers and regulators.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline or equivalent technical Degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience
At least 5 years’ experience as a Quality Engineer or, Design or Manufacturing Engineer working within the framework of a Quality System. Experience with medical device manufacturing with electronic and/or electromechanical products is required
Experience in FDA regulated Medical Device industry with design and manufacturing of Medical Device Products and relevant ISO-Standards like ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 14971
Experience as a functional (people) manager
Demonstrated success in leading change for product or process quality
Demonstrated ability to lead, communicate, interact and influence effectively at technical and management levels across functions
Demonstrated high level of continuous improvement philosophy
Business fluent in English and German.
