Senior Manager (Ref. 20041505-E) 

Duties 

The appointee will be required to lead a small team to: 

(a) plan, implement and manage different entrepreneurship funding and incubation programmes both in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland including new investment funds;
)b) work closely with faculties and researchers to support the commercialization of research through technology venturing;
(c) proactively drive, develop and manage collaborative partnership with investors, incubators and accelerators both locally and in the region;
(d) manage the portfolio of invested or supported start-ups or spinouts, including but not limited to financial performance monitoring and reporting;
(e) assist in formulation of strategy for providing holistic funding programme support to start-ups or spinouts; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Institute or his delegates.

Qualifications 

Applicants should: 

(a) have a recognised degree in Business, Finance, Science, Engineering or a related discipline, preferably with a postgraduate degree in similar disciplines; 

(b) have at least ten years’ relevant post-qualification experience in angel or VC investment in early stage technology start-ups, with prior experience in commercializing or incubating university technology startups an added advantage; 

(c) have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua; 

(d) be proactive and able to work independently and under pressure; 

(e) be a good team leader with good leadership, coaching and motivation skills; 

(f) be a good team player with good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; 

(g) have excellent problem-solving skills and strong drive for success; and 

(h) be good at multitasking. 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written language proficiency test.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
