We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Manager, Regulatory Compliance Risk Assurance.

In this role, you will

  • Primary responsibility of this role is to manage the HK based Global Business units such as Global Banking and Markets, Commercial Banking, Retail Banking and Wealth Management including Global Private Banking and to provide subject matter expertise in the areas of compliance risk, control and testing.
  • Responsibilities includes overseeing design, development and execution of testing activities, evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, and internal controls such as maintaining quality assurance of the relevant Regulatory Compliance Risk Assurance programs.
  • Lead or oversee cross business programs, projects and initiatives related to Compliance Testing, management strategy and project management.
  • Participate in the oversight and enhancement of the Compliance Testing infrastructure in support of reporting, capacity planning, plan development, administration and analysis of testing outcomes across testing areas.
  • Implement strategies to address automation, productivity and infrastructure problems and issues.
  • The job holder is required to provide assurance for business and Compliance Management to ensure that compliance risk managed as per Global Procedural Standards and best practices.  
  • The job holder is expected to lead development and manage production of reports and metrics on a timely basis.
  • The jobholder is expected to act proactively and generate ideas for enhancements to the team's activities. Individuals should have the ability to quickly assess information through analysis and knowledge of business structure as well as showing leadership in an unstructured environment and keeping up to date with changes in the HSBC Group.
  • Maintain HSBC internal Governance control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements 

  • Seasoned professional with proven relevant business and audit experience is highly recommended  
  • Strong risk assessment, control and testing skills and preferably audit related experience.
  • Audit related certification preferred such as CPA, CIA, CAMS, or similar.
  • Relevant experience of a wide range of business activities, product lines and regulatory topics
  • Proven organizational, planning, interpersonal, managerial, analytical, problem solving, decision making, and team building skills. 
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively and proven ability to meet challenging deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise discretion, work independently within broad guidelines, tactfully handle sensitive and confidential data and complete assignments timely. 
  • Ability to work with and also to lead different cultural groups and build consensus. 
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written in English.
