The Opportunity:


As a key member of the AIA Australia Transformation & Project Office, this Permanent Line 1 Senior Risk Manager role leads the ongoing development and management of the risk framework and culture across the enterprise-wide delivery portfolio.

As a strong risk advocate and communicator, with a focus on modern ways of working including Agile delivery, you will support portfolio delivery in line with relevant internal and external policies and requirements, organisation controls and Board reporting obligations.
 

The role calls for an adaptable and mature minded individual, capable of navigating a large and complex organisation with experience at working with executives through to delivery professionals and teams. You will be a strong communicator. This role is Melbourne based (preferred).
 

To do this successfully you will:

  • Design, lead, maintain and guide the Portfolio, Project & Transformation risk culture, capability and frameworks to ensure obligations are met through effective processes, procedures, controls and reporting  
  • Responsible for developing and implementing appropriate frameworks and controls, to ensure the Portfolios operates within the enterprise risk appetite and complies with required standards and regulations.
  • Be an advocate of modern ways of risk management, including digital first focusand embedment of risk practises as part of the agile delivery approach
  • Responsible for the management of risk and audit issues identified, ensuring all quality root cause analysis is conducted and corrective action is taken to improve risk management across delivery at a project and broader portfolio level
  • Support department contribution to various Executive and board governance committees, with ability to present to executives.
  • Support the formulation and implementation of the Transformation Office strategy and plans with a particular focus on operational risk
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders including, General Managers, Heads of and Senior Managers, across the businesses. Identifies and addresses gaps in business knowledge of risk and compliance frameworks
  • Monitor the risk profile to identify, understand, escalate, and report on issues, incidents, and changes in the business


Successful applications will demonstrate:

  • Experience working within an operational risk and compliance role including time supporting large and complex delivery portfolios
  • Experience in driving a customer and risk focused culture and delivering shared value outcomes for customers, partners, and the enterprise 
  • Proven track record of identifying, managing and mitigating risks in an operational environment, achieving business delivery outcomes and exceptional customer service
  • Experience in developing and leading changes to risk and compliance frameworks, methodologies, and approaches
  • Use of Jira and confluence for portfolio/project risk management (preferred)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the influence of environmental factors on operational risk, particularly pertaining to change/project delivery
  • Experience in and strong understanding of project delivery lifecycles and methodologies in a regulatory environment
