Main objectives of the position:
Efficient leadership of the team Supplier Management (Cabin) for New Product Project H6 in Beijing/Huairou. Manage the Quality and Supply-Processes of selected suppliers for the H6-project in the respective commodity group. Close cooperation with suppliers, our assembly plant, development Dept., worldwide purchasing areas, and the project organization. As Supplier Management, we secure the timely launch of the purchased parts from suppliers and also secure assurance of the quality of these parts, manufactured by suppliers. Participating in the supplier selection process, leading the PPAP process to timely and qualitative achievement and coaching of the suppliers with DAIMLER established tools, methods and processes are the goals of this Department.
Key tasks:
1. Leadership of employees, the management, motivation and development of staff using target agreements and performance appraisals, founded on our mission statement & corporate values, and provision of purposeful internal communications to achieve the agreed objectives. Ensure necessary training appropriate to the needs of individual employees and the tasks assigned to them is provided. Informing subordinated employees about the relevant provisions and instructing them to comply with the provisions. Ensure implementation. (20%)
2. Representation of the Team/Department in respective committees and project meetings/tasks including the reporting of the status and milestones. Secure that the requirements from Supplier Mgmt. view are considered by R&D Dept. in the parts specifications and data books. Assessment of development and volume production suppliers. (20%)
3. Support and (partial) Lead of the development process of the Department. Develop /support the development of new and revised strategies of the Department. Provide new impulse and generate, harmonize and implement the goals of the further development of the Department and Team. (15%)
4. Secure the degree of maturity according to the Q-gate philosophy. Coordinate and steer the reliability of supplier processes and parts/components. Steering of development process and monitoring of timeline for launch of manufacturing process at suppliers. Planning, Responsibility and leading of complex, interdisciplinary projects with development suppliers and cross-functional teams. Organize processes for successful manufacturing at the suppliers. (10%)
5. Participation in development of specification book, contract documents and technical descriptions. Evaluation of logistic, quality and manufacturing processes of potential suppliers. Support in cross-functional cost reduction initiatives and workshops. Participation in cross-functional module- and commodity teams. Determination of performance evaluation and recommendation of suppliers for awarding. Planning, steering and monitoring of Launch- and change management of components. (10%)
6. Supplier evaluation and assessment together with Procurement for supplier awarding process. Conduct risk-analysis at awarded suppliers and implement/lead support processes and methods for respective improvements at suppliers. Lead volume production preparation at suppliers, manage and coordinate PPAP-process and timely launch of manufacturing at suppliers. (25%)
