Senior Manager Supply Chain Distribution

At Amgen Breda, medicines are labeled, assembled, stored, and shipped to various countries worldwide. Every day more than 1000 people from 38 different nationalities are working on supply chain processes, manufacturing, marketing, and sales of our medicines, and clinical research into new medicines.

What you will do

The Supply Chain hub Europe is responsible for managing a global network of more than 400 distribution lanes. They execute distribution activities for different Amgen sites (Netherlands, Ireland, and Contract Manufacturers) and manage transportation partners across the region. By keeping up with emerging trends and innovations we can ensure a stable supply of our medicines to our patients worldwide.

In this role, you will decide on the development and implementation of Cold Chain capabilities. You will ensure global supply by defining and advancing an efficient distribution strategy by coordinating a complex network of Transportation Service Providers. As an inspiring leader, you will drive a culture of Continuous Improvement and transform the business model to achieve higher levels of GDP, SOX and trade compliance, and operational excellence. • Lead, mentor, and develop your highly skilled and experienced team of transportation and cold chain specialists throughout the region (2FTE in Ireland and 3FTE in the Netherlands).
• Coordinate, sustain and improve the operational and tactical transportation performance for end-to-end Clinical and Commercial Supply Chain.
• Be responsible for Transportation Service Provider management for the Global Supply Hub.
• Build a broad network across the region in the different Operations Sites, Service Providers, Supply Chain hubs, and in-country stakeholders. Partner with them to optimize the global cold chain solutions.
• Use Operational Excellence as an approach to drive continuous improvement in performance and cost reduction distribution strategies.
• Act as the lead distribution representative in global transformational projects.

What we expect of you

We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The supply chain professional we seek is a strategic leader with these qualifications:

• Master’s degree or equivalent related to Supply Chain, Logistics, or Economics.
• Understanding of E2E supply chain business processes (APICS CPIM, SCOR, S&OP, Logistics, Customer Service).
• Proven experience in Supply Chain (Distribution, Warehousing, Transportation, etc.).
• Natural leader and ability to coach, mentor, and develop direct reports.
• Experience in working in an international environment, ability to collaborate closely/communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and different cultures.
• Ability to develop insightful strategies based on knowledge of external and internal operating environments.
• GMP, GDP, and SOX knowledge and broad understanding of pharmaceutical regulations.
• Willing to travel up to 20%.
