The opportunity:

AIA Australia has an ambitious agenda to transform to a customer and digitally enabled organisation.  Key to this transformation, is also transforming our people and organisation to ensure we can deliver on this ambition and this newly created role in our People & Culture function will be a key contributor to this.

As the Senior Manager, Talent Management you will be responsible for establishing and implementing the Talent Management Strategy for AIA Australia. You will identify, nurture, inspire and grow the talent we need to enable successful delivery of transformation agenda and strategic plan. Working closely with senior leaders across the business, local and group HR, you will build and engage our talent to deliver on our transformation agenda. We are accepting applications from Melbourne and Sydney. 

To do this successfully you will:

  • Develop and implement a wholistic Talent Strategy for AIA Australia, including determining the best approach (buy/build/borrow) to ensure we have the right capability to enable our transformation agenda and meet our talent requirements

  • Consult with the business on their talent requirements and ensure these are built into the talent strategy and the capability and learning priorities

  • Working with the Strategic Workforce Planning, identify key capabilities requiring a targeted approach to attract/ retain/develop these cohorts

  • Drive and embed talent management practices

  • Identify potential gaps and build development options to help people realise their potential, working with the Leadership & Capability team to ensure we meet these

  • Develop required talent initiatives to ensure we are fostering a diverse talent pool

  • Define and implement succession planning for executive and leadership roles and critical roles across the organisation, ensuring plans result in targeted development plans for successors.

Successful applications will have:

  • Degree qualified in HR/business and relevant HR functional knowledge across different HR areas and operational experience

  • Strong background in Talent Management, preferably in a global organisation

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Talent management methodologies and experience with strategy definition and delivery

  • Demonstrable understanding of different talent tools, assessments and frameworks to support assessment and development

  • Experience utilising talent systems, preferably within Workday

  • Effective consulting and stakeholder management skills

  • Coaching, facilitation, influencing and problem resolution skills

  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks and resource in a high pressure environment

  • Ability to recognise and foresee strategic opportunities for change, thinking outside the box to identify idea’s and solutions for continued improvement
