The position is responsible for ensuring overall tax compliance for Philam Life, BPI Philam, PELAC, Philam Properties Corporation (PPC), PERF Realty Corporation (PRC), Kapatiran Realty Corporation (KRC), and Philam Tower Management Corporation (PTMC). This position is also responsible for directing the team towards timely, relevant, and quality financial reports with great accuracy to various stakeholders of real estate (RE) entities [PPC, PRC, KRC and PTMC)] and Philam Tower Condominium Corporation (PTCC), leading the team in working on company/ finance initiatives and providing guidance to meet set goals effectively and efficiently.

Tax

  • Lead the Tax Office which is responsible for all matters relating to tax compliance, tax optimization, tax accounting and reporting for the Philam entities

  • Act as the key point of contact and support for Philippine taxation matters

  • Provide internal tax advisory services and support on business operation matters/ special projects

  • Oversee ad-hoc tax-driven business initiatives

  • Liaise with tax authorities and provide support to the Philam entities on tax assessments and examinations

  • Manage tax accounting, compliance, reporting, and filing for the Philam entities

  • Establish appropriate system, processes, and controls for tax risk management 

Affiliates Financials Management

  • Support planning, budgeting and forecasting process for the real estate (RE) entities [Philam Properties Corporation (PPC), PERF Realty Corporation (PRC), Kapatiran Realty Corporation (KRC), and Philam Tower Management Corporation (PTMC)) and Philam Tower Condominium Corporation (PTCC];
  • Responsible for the General Ledger FS Close process for non-insurance companies;
  • Oversee the finance operations of the RE entities and PTCC, as follows:
  • Review check disbursements/ payment requests and related withholding taxes
  • Handles confirmation to bank of PTCC’s check issuances
  • Monitor funding requirements and TD placements of PTCC
  • Prepare investment trade template (money market) and submit to IACOE
  • Review computation of monthly asset management fee
  • Review computation of success fee
  • Manage financial reporting requirements of the RE entities and PTCC including audited financial statements, financial reports for board meetings and IFRS reports, and certification of monthly financial statements.

Others

  • Identify/ set developmental requirements of the team members, performance goals and provide coaching/ mentoring in day-to-day work and reviewing job assignments of each member to ensure optimum efficiencies

  • Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/ or other requirements
