ABOUT THE ROLE

Test Management:

• Define project test goals coordinating with project internal and external partners
• Develop strategies, plans and other project documents
• Define scope of testing within the context of each release / delivery
• Manage various testing capabilities in projects such as functional, automation, ETL and performance testing
• Negotiate the ongoing purpose and deliverables of the test effort
• Perceive risks relating to schedule, process, quality and costs and suggest mitigation
• Ensure appropriate planning and management of the test resources
• Estimate and obtain management support for the time, resources and budget required to perform the testing
• Develop the test plan for the tasks, dependencies and participants required to mitigate the risks to system quality and obtain partner support for this plan
• Arrange the Hardware and software requirement for the Test Setup
• Assign task to all Testing Team members and ensure that all of them have sufficient work in the project
• Design test scenarios, test scripts and execute tests when need arises to support delivery
• Organize the testing kick-off meeting
• Document, implement, monitor, and enforce all processes for testing as per standards defined by the organization
• Check / Review the Test Cases documents
• Advocate the appropriate level of quality by the resolution of important defects
• Advocate an appropriate level of testability focus in the software development process
• Ensure content and structure of all Testing documents / artifacts is documented and maintained
• Keep track of the new requirements / change in requirements of the Project
• Escalate the issues about project requirements (Software, Hardware, Resources)
• Organize the status meetings and send the Status Report (Daily, Weekly etc.) to partners
• Act as the single point of contact between Development and Testers
• Track and prepare the report of testing activities like test testing results, test case coverage, required resources, defects discovered and their status, performance baselines etc
• Review various reports prepared by Test engineers
• Ensure the timely delivery of different testing achievements

People Management:

• Liaise with project stakeholders to maintain a healthy relationship and resolve any issues/ conflicts/ negotiations amicably
• Coach, mentor and motivate team members and influence them to follow the right values needed to deliver daily work
• Support team development by exploring tools and techniques which can improve daily work
• Foster innovative ideas from the team and maintain team morale
• Identify training requirements and in consultation with the Line Manager (Technical and Soft skills)

ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED

• Minimum 14+ years of hands on experience with software testing across Test Management, leading a testing project and people management
• Should have experience leading, coaching and mentoring a team of at least 10 people
• Must be a disciplined, self-starter and have the ability to execute on assignments independently
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be willing to perform a hands-on role for project needs
• Passionate and flexible to learn and grow to meet technical demands of the organization
• Should be able to demonstrate AZ values at all circumstances
