Job Grade: Grade 3
Report to: Vice President - Operations, East China
Job Summary:
To manage the transport team of East China, covering the operations and business development of the transport.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day to day transport operations of East China transport network;
- Draft the market intelligence report and put forward suggestions for operation improvement;
- Communicate with customers to understand their business requirements;
- Work with operation / implementation team to manage the transport operation to meet or exceed customers requirements;
- Make decisions and give instructions on transport operations issues
- Develop and maintain excellent customer relations
- Work together with the transport operation team to maximize the operation efficiency;
- Develop suitable solution input for RFP / RFI response, including data analysis, transport solution development, routing design, process design and quotation preparation;
- Develop costing and pricing to support bidding;
- Actively support, implement and participate in any strategic developments identified by VP.
- Effectively and efficiently explain and take action with regard to any issues raised by both internal and external customers
- Follow the company code of ethics and general guidelines as determined by the company
- Develop and maintain a professional and motivated employee team by conducting daily, weekly and monthly communication and regular counselling activities. Apply effective team building and leadership techniques.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor degree or above in Logistics, Engineering, Computer Sciences or equivalent
Working Experience:
- Minimum 8 years experience in logistic industry (3PL is preferred), with the focus on the transport management and solutions.
Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint essential
- Proven communication, facilitation, consulting and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and spoken English
Knowledge:
- Transportation operation or implementation experience
- Transport management system knowledge
- Network design knowledge
- Transport routing design knowledge
- Basic warehousing operation knowledge
- Solid project management knowledge
