Job Title: Senior Manager Warehouse Operations

Job Grade: Grade 3
Report to: Vice President - Operations, East China
Job Summary: To manage the distribution center team of East China, covering the operations and business development of the distribution center services.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day to day floor operations in the DC
- Maximise the efficiency of resources on the DC floor
- Work with the subordinates to ensure optimal product flow between different functions in the DC in the planning phase
- Spot bottlenecks on the DC floor and / or idle resources and facilitate solutions with the Supervisor(s) / Team Leader(s)
- Work closely with the despatch and transport team to ensure transport KPIs / DC dispatch plan is carried out without incurring extra cost in the DC
- Ensure productivity measures in the DC are accurately recorded
- Conduct regularly scheduled liaison with customers to review and interpret distribution productivity levels
- Ensure all SOPs are reviewed on a rolling basis and SOP documentation reflects activity on the DC floor
- Help the customers to instill a Continuous Improvement mindset in the Distribution Centre
- Supervise or conduct inventory reviews, audits and stock takes (as applicable)
- Ensure all instances of service failure, loss or damage to goods are investigated, and develop and instigate remedial action to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure that all operations are conducted in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and legislative requirements, to ensure safety to staff, the community and the environment
- Develop and maintain a professional and motivated employee team by conducting daily, weekly and monthly communication and regular counseling activities. Apply effective team building and leadership techniques.
- Work with the office staff to ensure close liaison between the floor team
- Eliminate down time due to accident, injury or work related illness by ensuring the implementation and maintenance of safe working practices and procedures.
- Conduct regular checks and inspections of workplace equipment and facilities to ensure the highest possible standards of cleanliness, maintenance, housekeeping, and hazard identification and rectification are maintained.
- Actively support, implement and participate in any strategic developments identified by VP.
- Develop and maintain excellent customer relations
- Assist in the preparation of budgets for administrative and distribution activities
- Make decisions and give instructions on operational issues
- Effectively and efficiently explain and take action with regard to any issues raised by both internal and external customers
- Follow the company code of ethics and general guidelines as determined by the company
- Assist and actively participate in the capacity planning process
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor degree or above in Logistics, Engineering, Computer Sciences or equivalent
Working Experience:
- Minimum 8 years experience in logistic industry (3PL is preferred), with the focus on the warehousing management and solutions.
Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word, Visio, Project and PowerPoint essential
- Proven communication, facilitation, consulting and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and spoken English
Knowledge:
- Warehousing operation or implementation experience
- Warehouse management system knowledge
- Strong warehouse solution knowledge
- Basic transport operation knowledge
- Solid project management knowledge
