Eaton’s Commercial and Residential Division is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Charlotte, NC facility. Relocation Assistance will be provided. Position Overview: The Senior Manufacturing Engineer’s primary responsibility is to reduce cost by improving the manufacturing processes, methods, and/or procedures by introducing new technologies, designs, and materials. This individual will implement process improvements which reduce labor by simplifying tasks (process automation) or speeds the process (increases the number of products produced in a set time frame). In this function you will: Reduce product cost by improving on the product design and material used or type of material used in the product design. Develop methods to reduce overall plant costs – improved inventory control, quality improvement methods, etc. Introduce methods of flexible manufacturing to meet JIT ideals—decrease the amount of lost time due to set-up/changeover, flexible tooling, etc. Initiate a safety review whenever a process and/or equipment change takes place. Liaison between product design and/or Marketing and Manufacturing. Specify, investigate, justify, and purchase capital equipment to accomplish primary function. Order or specify tooling. Assist Maintenance in repair of equipment. Pursue safety improvements. Aid in the training of manufacturing personnel. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering related field from an accredited institution Three (3) years of manufacturing engineering experience Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates that reside outside a 50-mile radius of Charlotte, NC Preferred qualifications: Master’s Degree from an accredited institution.
