Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Irvine, CA facility. Position Overview: This position is responsible for providing support to new and existing product development activities in our machine shop, providing support to customers, suppliers, partners with internal manufacturing cells and participates in continuous improvement activities in targeted areas. In this function you will: Generate part programs for 3/4 and 5 axis CNC equipment and machining centers. Selects all tooling required, provide set-up procedures, technical support, etc. Works on continuous improvement projects that support Eaton’s Lean Manufacturing and Cost Out methodologies. Determine all tooling, gauging, and equipment requirements for new and existing machined products. Design and develop tooling to support manufacturing/machining processes. Utilize problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Why’s, DMAIC) to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions. Support new program development and ‘Design for Manufacturability’ reviews. Participate in the procurement and start-up of new capital equipment. When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology from an accredited institution. Minimum three (3) years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated knowledge and training in CNC programming including tooling and fixture designs for said programming. Knowledge of lathes, mils, CNC machinery, and inspection equipment. Must be authorized to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now or in the future. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Irvine, CA will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred qualifications: Design for manufacturability experience. Experience in the use of CAD (preferably Catia), MasterCam, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Minimum of five (5) years engineering experience in an aerospace or automotive manufacturing environment. Sound manufacturing background (Processing, Programming, Assembly, and Tooling).
