Eaton’s Electrical Critical Power and Digital Infrastructure division is currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our team based at our Worcester, MA facility. Position Overview: The Senior Project Engineer will lead and manage large manufacturing projects to support our Plant transformation and new technology implementation. The Senior Project Engineer will develop project plans, submit capital request, obtain team commitments, track overall progress, mitigate risk, and lead project status review meetings. Additionally, the Senior Project Engineer will select the best technologies and processes to manufacture existing product offering and new product introduction. In this role you will: Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with management and stakeholders (QA, Mfg. Engineers, Operations Leadership, Supply Chain and Production). Develop project schedule with timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Track project milestones and deliverables. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path. Prepare project status reports. Maintain project documentation utilizing document control systems. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team. Ensure all new equipment meet or exceed Eaton Safety requirements (MESH). Analyze plant workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency. Assist in the research, determination, composition, and evaluation of Capital Appropriation Requests (including payback and net present value analysis) for acquisition of new equipment, tooling, materials, and other resources needed to support and offer solutions to resolve problems. This includes support emerging and existing technologies. Obtain multiple quotes from suppliers. Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts. Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution. Proficient knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and welding methods. Also, a broad scope of applicable knowledge in other related design and processing disciplines including (but not limited to) plastic and aluminum extrusion, casting, wood fabrication, machining, etc. Exposure and knowledge related to lean manufacturing processes and tooling requirements. Proficient knowledge of the relationship of ergonomic and aesthetic industrial design concepts as they relate to user interactive product design. Proficient usage of 3D Parametric solid modeling software, preferably Pro-e or SolidWorks. Also, strong computer skills with a working knowledge of typical business applications such as MS Office. Proficient technical writing skills as well as good written and verbal communication skills. Strong project management skills and the ability to manage and prioritize several concurrent projects.
