What you’ll do

Reporting to the Director Marketing, the Senior Marketing Manager (SMM) owns an aspirational brand plan that disrupts traditional notions of patient care for improved health outcomes.   The successful candidate will have a proven track record of establishing innovative strategic and customer experience plans, product positioning & messaging, strategic/operational planning, and the execution of the lifecycle plan. Strong financial acumen is a must, with the ability to lead high level interactions with the senior management team on a monthly basis.

As the SMM, you will lead and develop the brand team, positively ensuring people are engaged and reaching their maximum potential. You provide day- to- day coaching to your team to ensure that the brand-operating plan is successfully executed and interactions with the sales organization build positive outcomes. You are responsible for taking ownership of your team’s career growth and development to ensure your direct reports are supported with effective development plans to encourage personal and corporate growth.

As a digital leader you will help guide the brand team through our digital transformation, with adoption of OMNI and channel marketing, using the latest innovations in integrated selling and education models.  Your goal will be to create the best customer experience possible that will surprise and delight our customers and make AstraZeneca a leader in the space.

To be successful you will work closely with other SMMs across the Cardiovascular/Renal/Metabolic (CVRM) business unit and build strong relationships across the broader AstraZeneca organization.  The vision is to share insights and identify similarities & opportunities to craft common tactical platforms to strengthen the whole organization.

Essential for the role

  • University degree in science and/or business

  • Proven ability to develop insight driven strategy in a high collaborative manor with an extend cross functional team

  • Product management experience with a proven track record of driving significant brand growth

  • Strong digital marketing acumen with a successful track record of driving product adoption preferably in the healthcare space

  • Forecasting and budget management experience is a must

  • Proven track record of building and delivering an integrated brand marketing plan

  • Demonstrated ability to lead discussions at the senior leadership level with clarity and impact

  • Recent experience leading and managing a team is an asset

  • High emotional intelligence with a strong ability to influence, coach, and mentor the next generation of leaders

  • High self-awareness with an ability to learn adapt and grow from one’s successes and challenges

  • Experience in creating a diverse and inclusive working environment that nurtures the ideas and talents of individuals that can drive change across the organization

  • Previous sales experience both in primary care and specialty care is an asset
