What you’ll do
Reporting to the Director Marketing – Inhaled, the Senior Marketing Manager (SMM) Inhaled is accountable to champion, drive and own the performance of AZ’s flagship inhaled respiratory portfolio by propelling the leadership in asthma and COPD and lead our highly anticipated launch of new product to help COPD patients.
A passionate marketer at heart, you will lead by inspiring and aligning a broad senior cross-functional team on our key core priorities and bold vision to reframe respiratory care in Canada. You will shape the most aspirational, focused, integrated, and disruptive strategic plans to help hundreds of thousands of Canadian respiratory patients breathe and live better. You will ensure relentless execution of our customer experience plans against the prioritized best and biggest patient opportunities, making key trade-offs to optimize the value of our portfolio and ensure high impact on patient outcomes.
As a people leader, you will be responsible for the growth and development of 2 experienced marketing managers and provide day- to- day coaching and feedback to ensure executional excellence and make sure your team reaches its maximum potential and aspirations.
To energize an already very successful cross-functional team, you will lead without authority and foster a winning and positive culture, including with a large group of first line sales leaders and sales reps, to ensure people are engaged, clear and empowered to contribute to the team’s overall success. You take great pride fostering an inclusive and highly collaborative team environment, harnessing individual uniqueness and diverse thinking and fully embrace a ‘speak-up culture’ and be-better mindset as a path to high performance. Lastly your ability to put yourself in the shoes of others will help you unlock people and business opportunities.
Strong financial acumen is a key expectation, including the ability to lead short-term and long-term financial forecasts, optimizing the inhaled portfolio contribution to the profits of the marketing company, and lead frequent high level reporting discussions with the senior leadership team given the exposure and importance of the inhaled portfolio.
As a marketing leader you will help guide the brand team through a constantly evolving mix of traditional and digital activities, with the adoption of OMNI and channel marketing, using the latest innovations in integrated selling and education models to make patients and customer centricity come to life in everything we do.
Additionally you strive to alleviate systemic healthcare barriers across complex micro and macro multi-disciplinary ecosystems (including via policy changes) as an opportunity to accelerate clinical practice changes.
To be successful you will work closely with other SMMs across the different business units and build strong relationships across the broader organization, in Canada, and with our global and regional colleagues. You also be responsible collecting and reporting Adverse Events in accordance with AstraZeneca policies and procedures.
Essential for the role
Robust marketing management experience across different product life cycle stages (> 5 years and launch experience is a key plus)
Strong insights based strategic analysis/planning and execution skills with a proven track record of driving significant brand growth
Stellar written and oral communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas to various audiences, including senior leadership
Ability to execute at a fast pace and get things done quickly by figuring out the path to success
Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, react swiftly to change, remain agile and showcase growth mindset
Forecasting and large budget management experience
High emotional intelligence with strong ability to listen and understand the perspective of others to unlock people and business opportunities
Desire to influence, coach, and mentor the next generation of leaders and create a diverse and inclusive working environment
Previous professional education/CHE , sales management, digital marketing, primary care and specialty care are definite assets
