1. Participate in the review of product requirements specification based on input from marketing and customers; 2. Participate in design reviews and other team development processes; 3. Following the product spec, design, develop new and innovative products; 4. Conduct testing of all new products in accordance with related standards and customer requirements; 5. Complete appropriate technical documentation; 6. Work with industrial team to support production line set up; 7. Launch new product line extensions following a stage-gate process (i.e., PROLaunch) ; 8. Investigate and analyze new materials and their appropriate use within our product line; 9. Review and conduct computer-based FEA & FMEA analysis on new products to ensure their integrity and use the results to modify designs; 10. Keep abreast of new and emerging technologies and materials and uses computer software tools to design and analyze product integrity to facilitate rapid deployment; 11. Extensive materials knowledge with emphasis on plastic injection molding and metal stamping; 12. Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with all other team, manage mechanical resources to support all product development for all CPCD projects; 13. Participate in new product and technology development trend thinking and review; 14. Perform other duties as assigned; Qualifications 1. Requires a minimum of 6 years experience as an engineer or equivalent and could entail as much as five or six of recognized team and progressive individual experience. 2. B.S. in Engineering or Physical Sciences or its recognized equivalent in education and experience. 3. Experience in assembly product design, especially low voltage assembly design experience is preferable; 4. Proven history of designing and executing new product development programs; 5. Must be an expert in the use of Solidworks, AutoCAD or other software design tools; 6. Have knowledge on FEA/FMEA simulation, some experience preferred; 7. Experience in utilizing DFSS method to solve technical issues, as well as customer application problem; 8. Good understanding of commercial markets and the environmental requirements and related qualification testing required; 9. Extensive knowledge of a wide variety of low voltage system application; We make what matters work.
