Job Summary
This position is responsible for assisting with recruitment, development, leadership and ongoing management of the medical affairs including staffing, budgeting, and the development of objectives that are in alignment with Global Medical Affairs. Manages training and required resources for successful group utilization of education and research opportunities. Works with team members to develop collaborative working relationships with regional and national thought leaders to position them effectively as advocates for a specific product and disease area. Assures medical affairs team is best-in-class with clinical competence and confidence across the group. Identify and support developmental opportunities for team members, demonstrate expertise in thought leader development, investigative research, competitive intelligence, and compliant commercial support. Fosters an atmosphere conducive to teamwork and growth.
Provide leadership and direction to the strategic planning and implementation of local research studies, with consideration of national implications. Provide proper support through launching activities.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Disease State Leadership - possess a command of disease state clinical decisions and unmet needs across domestic and international geographies. Inclusive of thorough understanding of approved therapeutics and those in development, biomarkers (clinical and exploratory), academic vs.community practice differences, and current and evolving market forces
- Develop and foster a best-in-class KOL network (including domestic and international KOLs); represent Epic’s clinical research to key stakeholders in the disease area
- Develop and retain high performing talents
- Represent Medical compliance inputs in the CCC meetings
- Budgeting and resourcing as per the business priorities
- AnAPAC, PeriCLiP, KOL Management APAC Therapy Leadership Projects: Conceptualization to execution of AnAPAC(Anesthesia Asiapacific Congress, PeriCLiP -Perioperative clinical principles, KOL Management Tool - identification, profiling, management strategies
- Develop, nurture and engage KOLs in scientific activities that differentiate Baxter as a scientifically driven healthcare organization
- Contribute towards improving the awareness and positive outcomes of the Baxter portfolio
- Manage the clinical communication and training activities of the business so as to create a superior clinical brand and quality perception of Baxter’s Hospital products and services
- Strengthen the marketing strategies by required medical inputs
- Involve in the conduct of outcome assessment studies for the purpose of country- publications and generation of scientific evidence
- Educate and train the physicians in CMEs/Symposia/P2P programs/Round Table Meets/Scientific Forums in Conferences
Qualifications
- 6-8 years of medical affairs experience desired in a reputed pharmaceutical/ healthcare company
- MD - Pharmacology/Clinical Pharmacology/Internal Medicine/MS (in any surgical) branch will be preferred
- Should have the ability to effectively work and perform in cross functional teams
- Should have experience presenting scientific data
- Advanced skills and experience with scientific literature review and evaluation is preferable
- Should have the ability to assimilate into a fast moving, dynamic organization and to perform whatever is necessary to help the organization achieve its goals and objectives
- Should be able to develop relationships across functions or departments
- Able to create new approaches to effectively address future and current changes in the industry
- Effectively articulates new and different ways of thinking and doing business
- Translates concepts and ideas into actionable plans
- Ability to resolve emerging issues using existing teams and/or an established network of expert consultants
- Demonstrate capability for scientific, creative and strategic thinking, championing ideas for positions, and an ability to present and maintain fair-balance during scientific discussions
- Interpersonal Skills & Influence - Adapts communication style to the audience in order to be heard
- Demonstrates organizational awareness and experience working on cross functional teams
