Microsoft Capacity Supply Chain and Provisioning (CSCP) is the team behind Microsoft’s expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft’s “Intelligent Cloud” mission. CSCP delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform. As Microsoft's cloud business continues to grow the ability to deploy new offerings and HW infrastructure on time, in high volume with high quality and lowest cost is of paramount importance. To achieve this goal CSCP is looking for dynamic, highly motivated Quality Engineer to lead complex new product introductions (NPI) through an Infrastructure Life Cycle Management Process that focuses on getting engineering teams, operations teams and supply chain partners to effectively plan, produce, and ramp to volume production.

Responsibilities
- Ownership of System Integrator Quality requirements, new product introduction methods and test criteria
- Implement quality metrics to drive end-to-end continuous improvement, provide continuous feedback and report documentation on failure analysis and CAPAs
• Responsible for Manufacturing Qualification of NPI Platforms, and decision making for release to mass production. - Monitor pilot clusters in DC environment, root cause server hardware/platform issues identified during pilot.
• Ensure that all NPI open issues are identified through robust manufacturing readiness methods.
• Build intelligent data systems that support automation of NPI data review.
• Identify and review critical sub-tier suppliers’ quality control plans to ensure outgoing quality performance meeting Microsoft targets
Qualifications
- 10+ years qualifying complex systems for high volume production.
- Experienced in facilitation of complex problem solving with cross functional teams.
- Experienced in PFMEA and Quality Control Plan.
- Bachelor degree in manufacturing operations or engineering discipline.
- Master’s Degree is a plus
- ASQ certification as Quality or Reliability Engineer along and expertise with quality tools such as DFx, DoE, FMEA, SPC, Cpk, and measurement systems analysis, Six Sigma & ISO 9000
- 6-sigma GB/BB certified
- Experience of leading Kaizen projects
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Able to communicate effectively in written and oral manner, so that all stakeholders have clear understanding of issues and metrics
- Able to maintain a broad perspective, and identify and evaluate opportunities to enhance the business through cross-group collaboration.
- Creates a vendor engagement model, evaluates vendor readiness, and captures vendor knowledge for use across the product line.
- Has deep understanding of Server, compute, and storage manufacturing technologies and processes
- Demonstrates in depth knowledge and expertise in all areas of quality and reliability
- Can use and apply complex statistics to evaluate product reliability and highlight potential product risks
- Can identify and apply successful strategies and drive implementation improvements to engineering methods and quality practices across the supplier’s product or process portfolio.
- Has strong communication and project management skills
