Join Intel Labs' Neuromorphic Computing Lab to develop novel software for Loihi 2 and future neuromorphic processors. Until recently, Intel's neuromorphic research has been focused primarily on silicon development. With Loihi 2, we now have the world's most advanced neuromorphic processor, but realizing the processor's full potential will require solid software support spanning firmware, device drivers, embedded software, neuromorphic compilers, scalable spiking neural network simulators, and neuromorphic software APIs and SDKs. Neuromorphic processors are radically different from conventional processors, and as such we seek open minded developers eager to embrace new models of computing. There will be opportunities to contribute across the software stack, but this role will focus primarily on the lower end.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, integrating, testing, optimizing, and validating software to enable Loihi 2 features, get the most out of the chip, and provide breakthrough performance on novel neuromorphic workloads. Through benchmarking and simulation you will also support preSi power and performance analysis to provide architecture recommendations. As a developer in NCL, you may also participate in neuromorphic algorithm and application research, oftentimes in partnership with external companies and research groups.
