Job Description

Seeking a motivated, detail orientated, and strong communicator to support the Intellectual Property team of a publicly traded semiconductor corporation with a market cap exceeding $61 Billion.  The Senior Paralegal will demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and an understanding of U.S. and international patent law procedures and timing. The Senior Paralegal will work extensively with an IP management tool called Anaqua to complete various tasks.  The Senior Paralegal will manage and perform various strategic functions, either alone or in conjunction with team members. The job will involve working on US and international patent matters, trademark matters, invoices, maskworks, and assisting with subpoenas, litigation matters, and administrative duties as needed.

Responsibilities: Representative responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

  • Working with and managing a team of paralegals and assistants.
  • Daily interaction with IP management tool Anaqua, including US and international (PCT and Direct National) patent and trademark matter creation, maintenance, monitoring and docket management.
  • Ensure that all deadlines in relation to the IP Docket Database have been satisfied by communicating directly with attorneys and outside counsel to identify all requirements have been met specific to the docket
  • Process all incoming mail daily, including, but not limited, to IP-related correspondence from outside counsel, international agents, and inter-office communications among attorneys and Patent Committees.
  • Monitor/update information on all IP domestic and international cases in the IP Docket Database in relation to outside counsel communications and international agent correspondence
  • Coordinating U.S. and international patent application filing procedures with ADI IP team and outside counsel.
  • Intake and docketing of invention disclosure forms, coordinating meetings between in-house attorneys and patent committees to effectuate the flow of information and filing of patent applications based on invention disclosure submissions.
  • Managing payment of maintenance fees and annuities through coordination with ADI’s annuity payment system (Anaqua), outside counsel and international agents
  • Preparing and filing new U.S. maskworks, trademarks, and copyright applications in the USPTO as required
  • Process and implement ADI’s internal Patent Awards program
  • Assisting in setting up and monitoring investigation matters in Anaqua
  • Processing invoices from outside counsel and vendors
  • Generate various reports as requested on an as needed basis
  • Maintain current knowledge of IP rules and procedures, both domestic and international
  • Assist and manage relationships with IP team’s 3rd-party tools vendors including monitoring contract renewal notice deadlines and assisting in facilitating contract negotiations and renewals
  • Assist the accounting department with the reconciliation of invoices.
  • Performing factual research on competitors and other topics as directed.
  • Highly experienced with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint, as well as solid internet research capabilities
  • Proficiency and previous experience with IP Docketing Systems (experience with Anaqua preferred)
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete tasks with strong attention to detail
  • Opportunity to take on contracts and projects in areas other than IP

Qualifications: About You:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience at a law firm or in-house
  • Management experience desired
  • Strong understanding of US, PCT and foreign filing rules and deadlines
  • Semiconductor industry experience desired
  • Paralegal Certificate preferred
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Interpersonal and communication skills required to interact with lawyers and staff
  • Willingness and desire to learn new skills and take on new projects
