  • Following the guidance of the General Manager, relevant company policies and procedures, plan, direct, coordinate, review and control all direct production activities and related activities for maintenance, quality, shipping and receiving, including development of objectives, policies and standards to ensure the total manufacturing objective are accomplished in time with quality and cost effectiveness, meeting EHS standards in regard to all RC codes.
Main Task:
  • Objectives setting and budget control
    • Establish and monitor the overall plant activities and performance for production schedules and quality standards according to finalized customers' production requirements and company decision. Ensure these activities operated within the agreed budget in a cost-effective manner areas over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.
  • Planning of production activities and the implementation
    • Plan and coordinate with the relevant departmental/function/ section managers to schedule and decide all the plant activities for production, maintenance, quality, shipping and receiving. Direct, monitor and review the processes/procedures to ensure the activities support the accomplishment of total manufacturing objectives in time with quality and cost effectiveness.
    • Monitor the trial production for new/ modified products and processes by working closely with the R&D personnel to ensure the production capability able to cope with the new requirements.
  • Material management
    • Oversee coordination of purchasing functions, e.g. order quantities and delivery dates of all raw materials, packaging and support materials.
  • Maintenance and repairing
    • Establish and oversee the implementation of preventative maintenance and repairing programs according to machinery/equipment specifications and the utilization. Establish and monitor the spare parts levels and an effective reporting system of repair activities to ensure no interruption in production process and efficient use of machinery/equipment. Replace or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment if necessary and report to supervisor any major changes. Drive for improvements of entire process chain, in terms of EHS-Q performance and efficiency.
  • Customer interface
    • Establish professional relationships with key customers and other large sales prospects as necessary. According to the availability of production techniques and production capacity, provide feedback to sales marketing planning team on the availability of production techniques and the necessary adjustments so that the customers' requirements can be met or adjusted.
  • People management
    • Initiate and support recruiting, train, mentor & develop and evaluate the employees. Advise plant supervisors and monitor their performance on labor issues including safety, security, employee relations, scheduling, training, grievances and the like which are essential for the manufacturing objectives. Control and minimize labor overtime, overhead costs and repair expenses. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policies. Consult with Human Resources Department as appropriate.
  • Documentation
    • Work closely with the Information System Manager to develop and maintain a computerized integrated record keeping system for efficient/effective production.
  • EHS-Q and housekeeping
    • According to corporate, company and statutory EHS&Q requirements, develop and monitor the relevant safety and environment protection policies and procedures, work instructions, including all Q aspects applies in the relevant operation areas together with EHS Manager. Incorporate shop floor units and plant cleanliness among plant personnel to maintain a working environment that supports production activities.
  • Technology Management
    • Act as Technology coordinator of plants for activities agreed with head of Technology; Cooperate with technical teams for plants technology management support in Asia pacific region.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
  • Working Experience: over 10 years and above working experiences in chemical industry in an operations/production environment, including at least 5-10 years’ leadership exposure.
