Job Title: Senior Platform System Engineer

The Sr. Platform Software Engineer is responsible leading and participating in product development cycle from requirements gathering to implementation and sustaining. This position is critical to delivering the scalable low level SW that enable the platform implementation and drive the VeriFone business.
This position requires a technically skilled professional that thrives in a fast-paced environment with a track record of success in planning, designing, developing, testing, and debugging. This is a technical position that will be working with JDM/ODM, internal HW and Security team. Some travel is required for work with cross site development team and support various JDM/ODM that been identified.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in requirements to features definition including effort estimation during early project phase.
• Design and partition the platform level Architecture definition and drive low level SW implementation details to support the platform HW design.
• Define and lead the development processes, including creating accurate estimates, implementing coding best practices, performing code reviews, and other development activities together with JDM/ODM and HW team.
• Provide technology recommendations and strategy that support product requirements which champion and drive the next generation platform and technology solutions.
• Support JDM/ODM during the early HW power on
• Support any HW/low level SW debug when issue encounter during and post development.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in CS/CE with 10+ years of experience SW development experience for platform
• Principle Software Engineer or Development Manager.
• Experience delivering large scale software solution systems
• Experience at configuring Apache in a UNIX/LINUX environment
• As part of domain expert team, knowledge on smart devices especially Android base device design is require.
• Strong understanding of platform system to low level SW concept.
• Strong collaboration skills
• High attention to detail.
• Superior written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Self-starter, motivated and able to multi-task.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects, deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Desired Skills
  • Platform level device driver, Kernel and firmware development experience
  • Experience with Agile development model
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI)
  • Ability to debug platform level issue that involve HW and SW.
