Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. The key role of Senior Principal Scientist will encompass preclinical efforts to diversify and support Amgen's large molecule immunotherapy portfolio with an emphasis on Amgen's T cell engager platforms (BiTE® and UniDabs) and approaches to enhance the durability and depth of response to T cell engager therapy in patients. The ideal candidate will have a track record of innovative discovery biology supported by presentations, publications, or patents with a strong drive and experience in advancing therapeutic candidates in Oncology or Immuno-Oncology.
In this role, your core responsibilities are to:
Drive the progression of small molecule discovery and development teams as a PKDM project team representative; experience with inhaled therapeutics is preferred
Lead PKDM efforts for IND and NDA filings
Interact with partner contract research organizations (CROs) to develop and implement novel small molecule in vitro assays and support project progression
Evaluate and implement novel technologies to characterize the metabolism and disposition of new chemical entities
Build close relationships with partner functions and therapeutic areas
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of project team support, building teams with partner CROs, and strong external eminence (publishing). This role requires an excellent understanding of preclinical ADME and the factors influencing drug disposition, as well as an individual that can work collaboratively in a highly matrixed environment.
In addition to the core responsibilities, the position provides the opportunity to pursue scientific inquiries into the fundamental physiological and biochemical factors that determine the absorption, distribution, and clearance of protein and other emerging therapeutics. A collaborative and highly capable scientific community at Amgen is available to support these efforts. Interactions and collaboration with academic and other external scientists is highly encouraged
