The goal of the Sigma Delta Team within the Industrial Business Group is to bring forward highly innovative, next generation technology that redefines the market’s understanding of Sigma Delta Core ADCs and increases the depth of signal chain integration and features that can be achieved.

To enable us to achieve our ambitious objectives, the Sigma Delta team is seeking a self-motivating, “customer focused” Senior Technologist for Analog and/or Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer focusing on the design of New & Novel Core Architectures scalable by Performance/Speed/Power/Feature Set/Cost for next generation high-performance and Technology Leadership SD-ADC products. Job responsibilities include IC design, starting from ATECH design, researching & identifying appropriate device geometries, intense and regular customer engagement through to initial specification, design and layout supervision, silicon evaluation, debugging and characterisation to eventual new and novel product introduction.
 

Responsibilities are:

  • Developing and establishing an Innovation mindset and complete ownership of Data Converter Architecture and mixed-signal circuits used in SD-ADC products through all steps of product development cycle
  • Providing thought leadership and clearly communicated technology leadership within the SD-ADC Design and Engineering Faculty
  • Working with customers to identify changing and evolving requirements, and translating these requirements into commercially successful SD-ADC products
  • Ensuring the generation of ADI IP to create barriers to entry by competitors
    • Detailed circuit design, simulations, and verification of high performance SD-ADC and auxiliary circuits. This includes Clock Generation, DACs, and Diagnostic and Prognostic circuit elements.
    • Definition, evaluation, and development of new architectures and specifications for individual ADC Core circuit blocks to give ADI a Technology Platform scalable by Performance and Signal Chain Content for the Industrial, Instrumentation, Automotive and mass markets such as Consumer.
    • Strong collaboration with peers to solve challenging problems
    • Layout supervision and post-layout simulations
    • Documentation and design reviews
    • Consultant on Lab evaluation and debug
    • Interactions with cross-functional teams to define requirements and specifications. Assisting in new and efficient production test development routines

 

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor/Master plus 15+ years relevant experience.
  • The ideal candidate should have an established career in Data Converter Architecture Design.
  • Has clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, team working experience and a pro-active approach to problem solving.
  • Has experience with and advanced knowledge of Cadence design, simulation, layout, and verification tools for analog and mixed-signal designs..
  • Has an intuitive and analytical understanding of transistor-level design and possesses good, working knowledge of small signal and large signal CMOS device models.
  • Has strong circuit analysis skills, recognising potential problems due to model limitations, parasitic effects, and device temperature effects.
  • Enjoys working in a dynamic environment, and openly embraces working with others, including across groups and customers.
  • Ability to travel for customer and partner meetings as required.
