Eaton’s Commercial and Residential Distribution Solutions Division (CRDS) is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to join our Marina Power and Lighting team. This position is based at our Williamsburg, VA location. Position Overview: The Senior Product Engineer is responsible for supporting the Marine distribution product line and ETO products. In this role, you will provide technical marketing support to both internal and external customers and support for marketing initiatives to drive product-line growth. In this function you will: Prepare submittals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and other information needed for customers and the manufacturing of marine and RV products, including pedestals, substations, and engineered to order products with advanced customizations. Provide input and assistance when needed for scheduling and production for responsible products, ensuring items are manufactured based on customer need and plant capacity levels. Establish, negotiate, and authorize price levels and lead times for product portfolio based on competitive feedback, plant workload, and guidance from the Sales Manager and Product Line Manager. Design and develop new products integrating feedback from the customers, sales, operations, and other key stakeholders. Perform management of line duties for current product portfolio including value engineering, cost out, and design deviations. Provide technical assistance with customers, distributors, supply chain, Eaton sales personnel and internal plant personnel on product application and troubleshooting. Provide design calculations and technical input for marina design/build projects and their power electrical infrastructure. Identify parts for purchase in support of manufacturing and proactively resolve all issues to ensure timely receipt of the materials required to meet the production schedule. Visit job sites to assist with quotes and troubleshooting Marina Power and Lighting products. Provide additional duties and responsibilities as required. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited educational institution Minimum of 1 year of engineering experience No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the 50 miles of the facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now and in the future Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Mechatronics Engineering 3 years of related product engineering experience Strong knowledge in controls engineering Knowledge of Eaton applications (Bid Manager and AutoCAD) Position Success Criteria: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation aptitude and public speaking experience. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated problem-solving ability and an innovative mind set. Strategic planning ability and strong organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Demonstrated supervisory and problem-solving ability. Ability to learn market influences. Practical experience and understanding of the electrical industry such as residential, construction, and industrial markets. Experience in corporate partnerships. Ability to travel 10% of the time.
