Principal Job Responsibilities:
May perform some or all of the following: Attend design reviews and read design documentation in order to develop a detailed evaluation and characterization plan for high performance IC devices. Guide DFMEAs (Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) for new high performance IC devices. Perform project steering duties for products with high performance IC devices. Develop evaluation boards for high performance IC devices. Write lab scripts for testing high performance IC devices prior to silicon arrival. Evaluate and characterize high performance IC devices in the lab using bench test equipment. Write evaluation and characterization review of high performance IC devices and present it to the project team. Provide lab testing support for any customer issues on high performance IC devices. Develop bench test hardware and software. Perform Lab analysis and evaluation of new silicon, working with multi-functional team to identify, simulate, and correct functional and parametric problems. Assist Junior Product Engineers, Lab Technicians and PCB Layout Engineers. May participate in onsite customer visits.
Qualifications
Either a Master’s degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in Electrical, Electrical and Computer, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline, plus one year of industry, academic, and/or research experience (gained at any time) in one of the following: MEMS, RF, Power, Converters, Analog, Mixed-signal, Digital circuits, or Embedded Systems; OR, alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in the same disciplines as above, plus two years of industry, academic, and/or research experience (gained at any time) in one of the following: MEMS, RF, Power, Converters, Analog, Mixed-signal, Digital circuits, or Embedded Systems. Within 1 year or 2 years of experience (as required by degree), must have at least one year of experience in each of the following: design methodologies for new evaluation tasks and execute them using bench equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators and precision meters; collaborate with a team of engineers to guide a product from design to release using tools such as version control systems and issue trackers; create automated software programs for product/IC evaluation using high level programming languages; collect data for established evaluation items, or follow suggested methodologies from design engineers or senior product engineers; attend product and design review meetings to build understanding of product development flow and basic concepts pertaining to products/ICs; revise existing evaluation hardware as required for specific tests and experiments; and perform statistical analysis to evaluate product performance. Must have solid oral, written, and presentation communication skills to efficiently communicate and work across a global organization where success is highly dependent on collaboration and effective communication.
